You all have your opinions. That's fine. I'm not going to discuss the financial aspect of it anymore. Whatever I say is going to be shot down by someone as a "bad deal." It doesn't matter what I say-that's obvious.
From my past experiences I should have learned that any time you post information concerning what you spent or plan to spend is going to be full of people that disagree with you.
You all like the 350z, I like the 350z. I just took it for another drive, and it was pretty fun.
And I've never wanted to just be "given" something. I bought my 1st car, I bought my 2nd car and I plan to buy my 3rd. I don't take handouts from family or anyone else.

The only way to know if this is a good deal is by finding how many years are left on the loan.
All the people whining about the 10k need to realize that his dad will be losing more than just 2k. What about all the payments he made before his son buys him out? There is no way to determine whether this is a good deal w/o more info.
Essentially he is getting a opportunity to puchase this car for 10k out of pocket and the remaining payments on HIS father's loan. So however many payments his dad made, he got for free. The key detail is how many payments are left. Look at the math...
If his dad has 3 years left:
$10,000 down + ($270/month * 36) = $19,720 Total Cost of ownership.
2 years left:
$10,000 down + ($270/month * 24) = $16,480 Total Cost of ownership.
IMO, anything less than 3 years of remaining payments constitutes a good deal for an 04 with 9,000 miles especially considering you know the entire history of the vehicle.
(which could be a bad thing)

You're definately right. A lot of people are always screaming about putting 20% down and only financing for 36 months. And if you go any longer, you're an idiot. I would be willing to wager that at least half of the people saying this aren't doing it themselves. I've been in the car business for 6 years now and less than 10% of people do that. I would even bet some of them are leasing while they talk about how bad that is too.

Incidentally, a 2004 6MT Touring w/ 9000 miles in excellent condition has a $24770 KBB private sale value, so anything under $20k is decent.
Whatever...it's pretty obvious you're not a genius, mathematical or otherwise...

Why should I kiss your ***? You're the one who got owned big time. What's the matter, someone pointed out your stupidity so you have to try change the subject by complaining about being stalked? Here's a hint: the more miles a car has, the less it should be worth. Dork.
