Good luck man. Let us know how well you make out. I think the boat wrap is your best option, but its not that easy to get off. Are you going to take it back to a boat place and have them get it off. They shrink that stuff on there pretty good and when it cools it pulls with quite a bit of pressure.

Yeah, it's also pretty expensive. That's why I decided to try the industrial saran wrap method over my OEM cover. I should have enough clearance to cocoon the entire car tightly with it. LOL, I'll be sure to take pics.

Hey, I'll be up in the area prob sometime in mid-June to get my ECU reflashed at Technosquare and pick up a few thing at Performance Nissan; maybe we could meet up then if you don't get down to SD much?

Most trailered cars I have seen have car covers on them and they work just fine. You just get the tight fitting ones and make sure you reinforce it in areas that it might need.

Home Depot and Lowes sells carpet protector plastic in rolls. It looks like Saran Wrap but is sticky on one side. People use it to protect carpet during construction projects. It removes easily and leaves no residue. That might give you the protection you want without the flappage. Flappage == bad news for your paint.

(Btw, since it is made for carpet, read the box and test it to make sure it is safe for paint!)

^ I've already got the contractor's stretch plastic (giant saran wrap); it sticks to itself real well, which is what counts. If I wrap it correctly, there will be no seams for the wind to grab and I'll tape up any rear facing seams.

I didn't read all the posts but i would find someone in the food business that can get you big roll of clear plastic wrap and use that to do the car, and you can use a bit of painters tape to make sure it doesn't come off. We did my buddies 01 Speedway White/Torch Red ZO6 when we trailered it from North Carolina to Texas...it worked perfectly.

Make sure the car is perfectly clean before you do this.

It took alot of measurements and a large stack of carefully cut lumber to work it all out, but I should be prepared.
Sounds like you got it all figured out, and that is what I wanted to make sure of. Hope you have a good trip!

I just used a u-haul car hauler and my front bumper of my Z did not go up over the lip of the front of the car hauler without pushing up the bottom of the bumper. Just thought I'd mention that if you're using a u-haul car hauler. I also made my own ramps to get the car up it by extending them onto the ramps that already come with the car hauler.
