To each their own....especially when you dont have to worry about snow vs. playing golf on Christmas Day with a ride, top down, to the course unlike in Maryland, eh?....ha. LOL.

Get the roadster if you can enjoy it at least nine months of the year.

Otherwise, get the coupe.

On the topic of VDC and TCS, do all Touring models come with VDC and TCS? I have an 04' touring and i can only see a TCS button but none for VDC?

In my 07 GT (coupe, 6spd) I have the burnt orange leather and love it. You have to put in the burnt orange shift boot cover though. The VDC is just unbelievable, if you like to play all you have to do is just turn it off . I ordered my car without the factory navi and place a garmin 680 in the factory compartment. I LOVE THE GARMIN. Plus you can still shut the cover (door) and it is not exposed for viewing. It was half the price and if you ever travel and half to rent a car you can take it with you.

I loved the look of the coupe but once you ride on a curvy mountain road with Nismo exhaust and top down you will be a roadster fan from then on. IMHO get the roadster. Yes you will be a girlie man because you will be able to put a girl in the passenger seat any time you want.

David, I'm curious, looks like it's about 3% roadsters. Is that truly what members of this forum are driving, or is that total U.S. (or world?) sales?

That's a lot fewer than I would have expected. I thought it was closer to 10 - 15%. For no reason, just my own assumption and guesswork.

I also test drove both, and ended up with the roadster. Something about being able to put the top down and cruise...

ZR doesnt come with vdc.. only coupes....

vdc controls the understeer and oversteer of the car by controling your breaking while turning keepin your z goin the direction you want it to go(direction your wheel is turned to)

TCS controls your throttle. if your wheels are slipping your engine will cut power to prevent it from spinning out.

I bought mine used so it came with Stock Navi. I never use it unless I travel (when I use it a lot). I would not have purchased it if I bought the Z new, instead going with an aftermarket unit I could move from car to car. Also this would allowed for more storage space in the car.

NOTE: You can not get the stock nav and the orange vented seats in the Roadster. That will definitely influence your decision.

Nice cars get screwed up around telegraph . . . might as well just bring your beater to college. (Assuming that's the reason you're going to UC Berkeley, and not for grad school or whatever).

I had the same choice when I was looking at Z's, and in the end I went with the Z coupe. The things I like about the coupe the most has to be the extended cargo capacity of the hatchback (extra space has come very handy many times), and the noticeably improved performance. That and while I loved how the Z roadster looks with the top down, I couldn't get over how crappy it looked when the top was up. So that and the roadsters very poor visibility when the top was up just killed the ZR for me.

So I can only recommend the Z coupe unless you absolutely love top down driving. I also highly recommend the stock nav, since it really makes the Z's interior look a lot more exotic IMO with how nicely it is enclosed. That and it really does come in very handy when traveling or whenever lost.
