AT of 6MT?
I'm use to a six-speed manual transmission, but my wife wants an AT. Has anyone gone from a MT to AT and regretted it? Also, is the 2007 AT manual-mode any fun?
Thank you.
Thank you.

My automatic transmission is great. Holds up well, shifts nicely. The sports mode makes it nice to shift through the gears when you want to get on the throttle. A lot of people make fun of the Z's automatic ... but what they don't notice is ... there basically is no significant difference in speed between the MT and AT. It only matters when you get to doing work such as forced induction, or other things.
It depends if you want to dance in the car, or just sit there.

Get the M/T, but get a rental car over the weekend and teach her to drive stick in that.

My daughters learned on 914s and MR2s, and my wife learned on my Fiat Strada.
Teacher, students, and all vehicles survived unharmed.
You have to try really hard to damage a clutch/ tranny.

i disagree my freinds 2006 enthusas automatic loses almost 2 cars against my 2003 touring manual and on the highway it loses even worse. And i must have raced it 15 times i pull on it effortless the auto 1st gear feels like my second gear. Do not get the auto the difference is very noticable i drove both several times and if i couldnt have a manual z i would never get the auto a z in auto is a sad thing to me. Also the 2006 auto loses by a half a car to a wrx with TBE the same wrx loses to me by 2 - 3 cars off the line and from a roll forget about it. O yeh the guy just sold his auto z cause i think he was so mad the manual was faster he should be gettin a 6speed soon his car only had 4000 miles and its already gone

I assure you the manumatic mode combined with the VQ35HR is a fierce competitor. Even a brutal one with the TT setup on it with an unlocked tranny, you wouldn't know what hit you!
Peace!

Manual gives you a much more rewarding driving experience. Automatics are boring. Perhaps I'm old school but I would never buy a sports car that is automatic I don't care how much faster it shifts. Unless you have some injury or are really old, (older than me 39) get a manual.
