we here get pretty decent prices on parts since we buy alot,but over there its like 20 - 25% less, plus used parts and cars are readily available. since inspection is soooo strict, it costs about 1500 - 2000 for cars like the gtr to be inspected every two years. Car prices are based on how much time is left before the next inspection and the cost of changing parts in order for it to pass. you can pay 17,000 for a r33 gtr but it may not have any time left before the next inspection and may have illegal parts that needs to be changed. so you may end up paying 5000 to inspect and change parts. but still, you get a r33 for about 23k.
for example, my cousin bought a N/A s13 Silvia with basic bolt ons for 500 but paid 1200 to have it inspected.
