350Z TT in 2005?? (pic and article inside)
Read this everyone:
Nissan's old, but memorable, 300ZX TT was popular due to its high potential for power and reasonable cost. When the 350Z appeared, people were left wondering where the forced induction was. Well, it seems as if Nissan is really laying down some plans for the 350Z TT, which could be released sometime in 2005. How much horespower? What kind of engine?
These are not the official facts, but rumor has it that in the states, the 350Z TT should be pushing close to 400 horsepower. The engine that will be used could be the 3.5-liter turbocharged engine that is set to appear in the R35 GT-R. We'll be sure to have more information as soon as it comes out. Until then, just drool over the possibilities.

What do you guys think? Will it be possible?

Ya way dude, guys are always trying to get a heads up at shows. He must have the new projector system provided by Nismo for like $50. Sucks that he just wanted to show some stupid park cause I'd have like F&F playing 24/7!
i dont believe the TT verison will be coming out because they have a 280hp 'limit' voluntary agreement signed by all Japan automakers to prevent power wars between the companies. If you think about it, the Supra, Skyline, RX-7 all reach the limit at about ~280hp but rarely exceed it. As the car will be faced with a luxury tax, and i have heard up to around 2x the price.
Just thought i would share that, as i have read this before in several places and from word of mouth from respectable sources. If somebody would like to add to this or prove me wrong and provide more insight i would like to know for certain.

haha it looks like it has a mustache. unfortunately it looks like a bad chop meaning it wasn't a chop/crop from a nissan source but a horrible chop from a pre-pubescent n00b
350Z w/ Twin Turbo AND T-Tops/Targa. Then we'd be talkin'!

If the RX-8 does well, Mazda will purportedly re-introduce the RX-7 in the U.S. with 300+ hp in 2005-2006 (according to Autoweek and MotorTrend). If this happens, I expect Toyota to re-introduce the Supra, and Nissan to introduce a TT version of the 350Z.
Just my 2 cents...

i think this whole situation is hilarious. all the sports touring cars (supra, rx7, 300zx) were discontinued b/c they became overpriced heavy poor-selling cars. the 300zx became a 45k sports car that people just didn't have the money to buy anymore. so they all got rid of those models and in turn got rid of their performance and exotic image (this especially hurt nissan) so then they were like oooh lets redesign and come out w/ new sports car for the people type cars that are under $30k that harkens back to the 280z. Ok but now the cars are approaching $35k, getting heavier w/ more options, and new variants are coming out that will be even more costly and we will be EXACTLY back to the same part we were in '95 - $40-45k sports cars that much cheaper cars can outperform and that people can't afford to buy as a second car. Not practical enough as a primary, not affordable enough as a toy. oh well...
There's definitely a market for $45K+ sports cars. However, I don't think a 350Z TT will have a prayer if it comes out in 05 ... it'll get swept away by the C6 Corvette if the C6 lives up to the hype (base model HP > current Z06 HP). And as far as a 350Z TT goes, will Nissan allow it to compete with the Infiniti G35/Skyline GT-R if that car gets a V8 or VQ35DETT?
exactly edoan. nissan is putting themselves in a slim position where they can have great technology/autos but they can market themselves out of a profit if they don't diversify - its a thin line. for instance, toyota's 4runner vs. lexus gs are so similar that it is problematic and porsche is losing sales to x5, volvo, and all other suv's of that type b/c its a few grand more and offers nothing except the porsche name. all i'm sayin is that there is tons of room for a mass market suv but competition will be VERY tight for a 40k sports car w/ the vette and everything else coming out. if you are going to actually buy an impractical 2 seater sports car, you probably have much more discriminating taste which is harder for automakers to match up compared to the competition
