If the insurance company decides to fix it, I wouldn't want to keep the car.

Coming from 11 years in the insurance industry, a lot of people are driving cars that have been in crashes like that without knowing it. Carfax is no where near fail safe. And if you are in a state that doesnt require salvage titles, most would never know it.

He hit another car. Both of the cars were going about 80mph. He was clipped.
The other car tried to pass another car, saw the Z, but it was too late. The other car was totalled, had 16 year old drivers, no licences, no insurance. They had broken arms and leggs. My friend walked away. The Z can take a beating.

How many of you that say stuff like the above are bodymen?
I'd guess not many. The fact is that after a light crash like this one the car will be restored to within 3mm of original spec. as mandated by the insurance co.
the days of heat and beat are over my freinds.
and as far as selling it goes, you are saying that u would rather sell a car u wrecked to someone else so they can put their kid in it and drive to school. nice.

Be prepared, once it's fixed. You'll probably end up going back to the body shop about 2 or 3 more times for extra work (supplements) and there is a chance your car can become a total loss after a certain amount of money in supplements.

I would sell it, It wont be the same. i had alittle accedent of my own in the winter.... rite into a ditch the left rear took the hit at around 40 bent the rod into a U shape, bent the spindle/ hub and had a bunch of problems trying to figuire out if the sub frame was rite. replaced all the parts myself but it still tore up the inside of my re040 to steel in about 200 miles. ever since i took it to the body shop personal friend who i know fixed it right, and he even stated that it would never be like new, and to this day it still feels a tiny bit diffrent. Now on your scale. Fix and sell man.

theaxe1149- Good point but its buyer beware. Its their fault for not checking. wether thats wrong on you i or the dealership for slipping it past its how it is. in his case on a job like that unless its a close friend ususaly stuff like that makes it into carfax. Its Up above my situation you should be carfull of when buying a used car

tell me about it. This was my car in 2004 and they fixed it. The total bill ended up being over 20 thousand dollars.

I have to say that they did a great job at fixing it though. I've since put 52k miles on it and haven't had to bring it back once. I do have some chip painting on my front bumper near my grill but it's a lifetime warranty.

OP, tell your friend to choose a very reputable shop, one that's been in business for quite some time and have them do research.

Good luck to your friend!
