I Can't Find My Car!
Hi guys. I joind this forum last year because I came close to trading my '03 S2k on a a new '06 Z. I got the bug again so I stopped by a dealer in Connecticut and test drove the '07 and I really enjoyed it. It's a great car. I drove the Enth but what I decided on a Touring. I wanted Carbon Silver/Black. You know, they could only find one which was about 300 miles away in NJ, and they didn't want to give it up. So, I'm wondering why there seem to be so few around. Possibly my best bet is to wait for the '08s to come out. This year the new ones didn't hit until January or February as I recall. Because of the new engine? My Honda's in great shape @ 23k miles and I''m not anticipating that it's going to lose much (if any) value over the next few months, so I'd still like to make this happen. Did any of you run into a similar situation? And when do you think the '08s will hit? I thought that the Carbon/Black Touring would have been easier to aquire. I guess I was wrong!
Thanks,
Frank

For what its worth, if you can find the color combo you want, you will save money buying an 07 in the latter half of 2007. Dealers want to move their inventory before purchasing more vehicles.
That, and waiting sux... just buy one and drive the wheels off of it.

I just bought a '07 Touring Redline 6 spd w/ black leather a week ago. My first choice was Redline or PP white with frost leather but that was nowhere to be found in CA. I almost bought a PP White w/burnt orange but would have had to go to Vegas 250+ miles away to get it. Bottom line it wasn't worth it to save a couple hundred dollars. What made it harder is I wanted a 6 spd. Most out there have auto trans which blows me away. How can you have a car like the Z w/o a 6 spd??????????????
Supplies are really low right now. I think it's because they're building the Nismo Z. I've heard there's 2 assembly lines for Z's and probably one's devoted to the nismo and the other regular Z's. Therefore, less regular Z's.

If you're in NY, go to Legend Nissan in Syosset. They have eight 2007s sitting on their lot right now. Call them to up to find out what models they are, but I know they are, because I saw them all when I bought my 06 last week there.

That kind sir is called thread jacking. Hope you find your car!
The dealer I checked out in Ct. had 8 also. 5 were roadsters which I'm not interested in. The only 6 spd coupe was an Enth model. Very impressive, but I really like the Touring. Hopefully, the new ones will be out in the Fall, but who knows?

I actually had the same problem last year in July. I was ready to buy an 06 and the dealership (Advantage in Westbury, NY) gave me invoice for it, but they could not locate a Redline enthusiast. I decided that I had to walk away b/c that was the only color/trim combo that I wanted. It seemed to me that the dealerships that I talked to didn't get much inventory of Z's each year, so you kind of had to go in early spring, which is what I did this year and got exactly what I wanted. Not sure if this will really help you this year, but if you're really set on a particular color/trim combo, go in May or June of next year.
