I'd hope a bunch or people do not start calling DAS. They are a vendor to Nissan, and I doubt they will give out any information that could adversly affect their relationship with Nissan. They could also change their plans on where the cars are going to be parked/loaded if they feel a need to do this to maintain a good relationship with Nissan.
There are people at Nissan who are open to the possiblity of letting some people view and take pictures of the cars, as they are being loaded. Too much contact right now could make them decide to change their plans.
Let's let RxO provide the clues as he gets them. The 12th is still a while off, and I'm sure you can imagine that arrival dates are subject to change, depending on ocean conditions. As we get closer, we can hopefully get better details. Know that your So-Cal partners are all over this, and will do their best to provide everyone with new info and surprises.

Good Job at the Convention Center Nizl. I was thinking about heading down there myself, to see if there was a chance to get in. It would have been interesting to see what info, and how that info was provided to the dealers in attendance.
My guess:
All attendees were given a Palm Pilot, and using Bluetooth, they all connected to my350z.com, and were instructed to search the forum for any issues they needed answers too.
They didn't learn much however, as they were all distracted by Doc Bonz's posts, and it ended with them each doing their own photoshop comics.

I must've ruined the party for everybody.
But he did talk to some dealers standing outside smoking, and apparently they've been parking the Z's at the Marriott just down the street, so maybe we can catch them there.
And I swear I saw Bonz doing goofy 350Z caricatures next door at Comicon!

nizl,
Thanks for the info. I headed down there after reading your message and arrived at about 10 PM. I was able to sneak in an exit door as someone was leaving. The place was emptying out, but almost everyone was in dress shirts and ties, so I looked totally out of place. I got a lot of awkward stares, but nobody said anything. The dealers at the convention didn't let me down - they knew hardly anything about the car. I was answering questions like what color the car was and what the features were inside. I just tried to make them think I was a well informed dealer myself.
Anyway, there were 6 350Zs there- it was like Z Heaven. The colors were Brickyard, Lemans, White, Daytona, Chrome Silver, and Silverstone. I have a Brickyard Touring 6MT on order, so I was very exicited to see the color. It is a deep merlot color, with a heavy metalic shine. In my opinion, it is one the hottest colors the Z offers. The Silverstone and Daytona were equally as impressive. The Lemans is pretty awesome, but I don't think I could get myself to buy it. Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures because I am sure they would have singled me out.
I spent about an hour looking at the cars and sitting in them, but I don't have any real new information. The car definitely looks more aggresive in person than in photos. It has a very wide stance and nice lines. I think we all like the back end, but I was very pleased to see that the front looked equally as inspiring. There was plenty of head and leg room for both the driver and passenger (I am 6', 200 lbs). I thought the interior (leather) was good quality. Sure it is not Mercedes, but I think it is a lot nicer than others made it sound. The rear hatch area is considerably smaller than the pictures look - this is really my only concern with the car. The interior of the doors is a little flat looking, but it is not bad. The cover for the navigation unit is total crap. They have to fix that before the car is released or they are going to have continual warranty claims. I sat in a car that had a broken navigation cover. The dealer that was in the car didn't even know what it was. He was tugging on it saying, I wonder if this is suppossed to be motorized. He practically ripped it out of the dash. I watched the show-crew move the cars out of the center as they were cleaning up. I thought the exhaust sounded very Japanese. It is pretty quiet at idle and doesn't rumble much at all. However, he did rev it a little at startup and it sounded pretty cool.
That about covers it. If you have questions, reply back and I will answer what I can. I don't have too many details because I was kind of worried about somebody telling me to leave. Hope to see you all up in Nor Cal this weekend at the ZFest.

Kcmarion and Nizl,
great work on crashing the SD Dealers conference. That's what this site is all about.
I'd love a few more words about the combination of Frost Leather and Brickyard exterior. As far as I can tell, Boomer and I are the only ones on this board who ordered that combination.
A much earlier thread mentioned that the Frost leather interior included a continuation of the lighter color on the doors and/or the dash. Did you notice anything like that?

Pooh2002,
The frost leather looked really good with the brickyard color. It had me doubting my selection of black leather. The only reason I went with black was that I was worried the frost would be too light and get dirty easily. After seeing it, I still have that concern, but if you are careful with your car, I don't think it will be a problem. The light interior really brings out the brickyard paint color.
The doors and dash were a continuation of the frost leather, but I don't recall if it was a slightly different shade. I think the doors were a little lighter and the dash might have been a little darker. I do know that everything blended very nicely. The back hatch area has a frost-like carpet cover with small black speckles in it. The rear strut was also frost with black and chrome highlights. The volour inside roof was also a frost color.
A female dealer that approached the car while I was sitting in it stated, "wow, look at that interior!". I agree with her, and I am sure you will be pleased.
I am really pleased with the brickyard color. I was a little worried when I saw some of the photos that have been posted, and based on the fact that very few have ordered it. However, in person the color is awesome - I think we have made a good choice, and it will be somewhat unique. The best way to describe the color is metallic merlot.

Kcmarion,
Now you've done it. I am so excited about getting my Z I may have to start taking tranquilizers to get me through the next ?? months until it shows up.
Great description. Sounds like they thought about how to get the most out of using light colored leather inside a dark colored car. The earlier pictures of the Frost interior were on a chrome silver car. Looked quite nice, but didn't give me a feel for the contrast the brickyard will give.
With the richness of the color as you described it, the black leather will be spectacular too.

So, anyone up for some fish tacos from the vendors at the port in Los Angeles around, say, August 12th?
Of course, I'll see you there. All I have to do is head up North on Ocean Blvd. I'll be there in 10 minutes.
Just say the time.

A great time for observing.
Do not distract the workers.
Enjoy the lovely scenery there.
Wilmington, The Heart of the Harbour.
Remember that it is called 'The Third World'.
Harry Bridges, between Anaheim and Avalon.
Notice how each added line gets longer and longer.
Comida y bebida?
