Default Another insurance Question... or is it?

Just bought a 03 PPW Track. Called up my insurance company USAA (the best) abotu 6 months before buying my Z and they quoted me under my parents name (I'm 19) for $280.00/mnth. I knew going into it insurance would be high and didn't matter to me. Well to my surprise when I got my policy setup with the Z still under my parents it went down to $140.00/mnth. To say the least i was very pleased but just for curiousity purposes i wanted to see how much it would be if it was in my name alone. Well went through everything and full coverage with $500.00 deductable came out to only $84.00/mnth!!!! My real question is if this sounds like mistake or oversight on there part because $84.00/mnth full coverage for a 19 y/o is insane!!! Please leave comments feedbacks and what not PS I have a perfect driving record

call your agent and ask him/her.
it does seem low for your age and car.

before you get flamed for asking an insurance question let me help you out. your rate depends on your age, credit, car, multi cars, home ownership and location. everyones will be different, trust your agent, its her job. but ask what coverage you have.

I have USAA as well Im 25 have a house excellent credit, and they charge me more for an 03 jetta then you will pay for a Z. It honestly doesnt seem right, but jump on it. Ive never paid 84 a month for any car Ive owned.

Agreed, there's some mistake being made by your agent. Then again, if you can get that policy in writing and check it over a couple of times, do it and grab that price.

Also the way seh explained it yesterday when we set everything up was that because i dont' have any assets compared to my parents that if i hit someone they have nothing to sue me for so there fore i don't have much to be covered if that makes sense

Sounds about right. For a 97 tt supra 3-ish years ago when I was 21 I was quoted at 120 a month for full coverage with a $500 deductible. Depends on you instead of the age range.

Not really. I started driving when I was 14 and I slid through the law before it was changed and had a license when I was 15. So I had 6 years of flawless driving history prior. Plus drivers ed. Back when it was a whopping $3 before the law changed for that too. Now its like $200 or so. Then again kids these days are a lot more stupid. And smaller. I blame all the soy beef they are forcing in their mouth. Lots of estrogen.

I have USAA, am 26 and pay ~$98 a month. I believe that the "assets" part you are referring to is the liability coverage. What are the numbers that they are giving you on that? mine is 300/500/25 I believe, but that only accounts for not even 1/3 of my premium, which isn't the majority at all. Most of it comes from the comprehensive and collision. I am interested in hearing the numbers that you are getting a quote on. I have heard that USAA has good rates, but I don't have anyone to compare them to. Also, USAA only handles military and their families AFAIK.
