Default Lauching the base Z/doing burnouts

I launched my base z at 2grand and dropping the clutch.
It seemed good but it left 2 tire marks. I thought when you break traction in the base z only 1 tire spins.

Also how do you do a burnout just floor it after launching at 2grand or what???

The way I always burn out....which when I first got my Z I couldn't resist doing, is hold the rpms up at about 5k then let out the clutch ( for me it's not so much a full on drop, but pretty fast) and then as you let out the clutch, increase the throttle accordingly to maintain the burn. Shift into second and drop the clutch a little faster and you should be able to maintain it. You'll get the feel for it. All the Z's will burn with both tires since they come standard with viscious lsd's.

Make sure you have the TCS off as well, or you wont get more than a chirp from your tires.

no, base does not have LSD, meaning it will only spin one tire. somehow you managed to hit the perfect spot where both lost traction somehow, hard to do.

dont expect that to happen again, and doing burnouts with 1 tire=silly.

not sure 5000 RPMs is needed tho, you can break traction with 2500rpms if you release the clutch quick enough, then apply gas from there.

there is no way to do a standing burnout without disconnecting something or a line lock.

My bad. Thanks for the correction.

To each his own.

I have spun both my tires at the same time on my base before also, but not going straight, it was drifting it around a turn.. 2 perfect black lines in a half circle.... And to do a standing 1 tire burnout, pull the fuse in the drivers kick that says brake lights...

just curious if youd tried it, I use to do burnouts in my truck, which didnt have an LSD, I could sometimes get 2 tires to spin on a moving burn, but for standing burns one of the tires ALWAYS ended up staying still. never got 2 tires burning in place.

same for Z?

ahh that sucks so only 1 tire will spin standing still

so how much do LSD cost and is installation expensive???

But all I can say is that moving i think both tires grabbed cuz I left 2 tire marks on normal pavement that one time

lsd is around 800-1200, and 100% better than stock.. I was going to attempt doing myself when I do it but decided it would be best to take it to a shop that just does rears.. I would think 200-500 for install. I may pull the rear out myself and bring it to them to install the lsd. I am just waiting to see if anyone is going to make different gears for the car... Might as well do it at the same time....

Sorry I didnt quote the first guy.... To do a good burnout with a 6MT place one foot covering both the brake and gas, and another on the clutch. Throttle up to about 3500 and drop the clutch, as the tires start spinning go a little heavy on the brake. The fronts should lock up and the rears should keep on spinning. Havent tried it yet in my 350, cause shes my baby, but used to do it all the time in my 240.
