Nissan's revival plan included using most all the same parts, making exciting looking cars and overlooking quality. Nissan was already at or below the industry average. It's not like they were the most reliable cars so this stuff should have been expected.

The new Maxima has TSBs already and the new Altima has recalls left and right.

I'm sorry but you're wrong. Go sit an a 10 year old Accord and then a 10 year old 3 series and the Honda will feel tighter. Also keep in mind that these cars are usually double of what the Honda costs.
Sorry, they are a lot more fun to drive but BMW can't keep up with Honda/Acura/Toyota/Lexus in quality.

Funny. I'm coming from Honda to Nissan.
Drove a 6th gen Accord. The car has terrible transmission reliabilty. (V6's tranny only) People screamed bloody murder for a recall after going through 4 transmissions on a 2-3 year old car. But no such thing from Honda. They just extended the warranty on the most recent year Accords. If the Accord had a CL-S tranny, the V6 would be a decent car, but with it's flawed by design tranny, and no support from Honda.... Thumbs down.

On the other hand, I have a 1999 Maxima SE w/o recalls or problems of any kind, ditto for our 1992 Maxima SE and our 1989 Maxima SE. The VQ drivetrain is excellent and my 350Z's list of problems has narrowed to 1, a couple of small grease marks on my windows that a squirt of Windex takes care of for about 2 weeks. I may never fix it, its trivial.

I would say Nissans of more recent 2000+ seem to be the main ones with issues, although I do remember a few for the 4th gen Maxima of some years with Altenator.

First time buyers have no idea what teething problems newly introduced cars can have and they're spooked by what I and a bunch of other Z fanatics get wrapped up in trying to get our cars perfect.

As far as I am concerned, the only problem that has confounded me is the tire wear, a professional alignment(by my dealer) has cured mine, I believe. Nissan has been slow to respond to our pleas/rants/logical reasons for addressing it. All of the other problems are not uncommon for newly introduced cars.
Ok Boomer - I am happy for you that your professional alignment has cured your tire wear problems. But I am not a satisified Z owner. Got my professional alignment (by MY dealer) also and I am having tire wear (feathering) problems after 2k miles on my second set of tires. I am tired of spending time going to the dealer every couple of months. I am not expecting a PERFECT car - just one that does not require taking it back to the dealer time after time for a design/suspension/alignment???? problem that Nissan has'nt come up with a PERMENANT fix for. One more time back to the dealer for tire problems and they are buying a lemon.
