I used to live in New Orleans.. and I suppose it is possible to off load the vehicles by 'containers' onto river navigiable ships.. It would be a shocker that the mid-west gets their cars before the left coast..

What about people from the middle of the US, IE.. me from Louisiana. Any idea where they dock the ship to unload for us central peeps?

The cars in Texas (at least here in Corpus) are ported in LA.

Dont worry. Have you ever seen a car that comes fresh off the boat? There are styrafoam pieces on the doors to prevent dings, there are plastic wraps all over the car etc. and if there is a scratch that they know about, you wont by the time you get your car.

Just how do you think Porsche, Mercedes, Ferrari etc get here? By air? No, ships.

Hey Garth!

Finally! Someone else from the swamp land. I'm from Baton Rouge as well. I see under your name it told me

I placed my order July 21st. At LeBlanc Nissan in Gonzales. I have contacted my dealer only 3 times since I preordered. I just called today to see if they had my VIN number, but my sales guy said the manager is the one who calles the head guys at NNA and he was in California till Monday at a car show with the Z. He told me when he gets back Monday he will call me to let me know one way or the other. Getting EXCITED, I'm expecting first week of September for my Z.

What part of Baton Rouge are you from? Where did you preorder? Maybe one of these days when we get our Z's we can meet up.

He also said that some of the pre-order folks may back out of the deal, so they may have one or two to sell to the first person ready to buy!
I just spoke to a sales manager there too. I guess it was a different manager because the one I spoke with said that it was a possibility as to the 13 August delivery date, not a definite.

In any event, thanks for the post, I wish I would have ordered mine there instead of Passport.

Having been born there, and having lived there, I can confirm - It is the place to be most any weekend.
