Have you considered putting it in your parents name, and just be a co-driver, otherwise you'll pay out the ***.

Search a bit, this has been brought up many times

Yeah, try this. I tried doing that but my whole family is under my dad's name and he told me since i was the only one likely to get any type of speeding ticket, that he didn't want me on there. His reason was that if i get a ticket, everyone's premium would be affected and go up.

I used to pay $2000/6 mo. everything under my name. I'm sure it would be substantially less if my car and insurance were under my parent's name. What I found interesting is that adding a 2nd car to my policy (93 impreza beater) it literally cut my insurance in half (now I pay $1000/6 mo.). Guess that multi-car discount is enormous. I'm storing my Z for the winter anyway, getting storage insurance soon ($100 6/mo.). Good luck.

Last year when i was 19, my insurance was exactly 402 per month with GMAC(they were the only company that would insure me at the time). Six months later and my three year mark of having my license and i switched to State farm and it went down to 280. Now i'm paying 220 at the age of 20.

GMAC sucks.. we were on it forever and my dad just switched us to I think progressive. They charged us wayyyy too much. My insurance now is $252 every 6 months.

Oh yeah and my Z is 17 years old lol.

yeah they do suck. The funny thing is i'm paying them small amounts every month to them because i had a contract with them and i broke the agreement went i went with state farms because i didn't want them anymore. It's still better at the end through the way i caculated it. And i actually have two car insurance companies on my car.

The best way is to call and check with any insurance companies. They are obligated to tell you their competitors prices as well even if they are lower. If the other people are lower, they will try to win you over on why they are better and how adding a bit more money is more worth it to you. Your area where you live will play a big role on how much you will pay. There are plenty of factors so asking us how much we pay might set you up for dissapointment if you can't afford it.
