Default Is the sunglasses chamber just decorative?

Does anyone actually store their sunglasses in there? I've tried but it's way to narrow to actually swallow anything. If anyone actually keeps their glasses in there, what brand of (men's) sun glasses are you wearing?

My father's Pathfinder had the same compartment but it was twice as wide so as to actually make it useful. Nisssan probably figured everyone would just use the hole in the dash where the navigation system might sit to store their glasses, e-z pass, wallets, weapons, etc. Go figure.

I have a cheap pair of sunglasses that I got from Wal-Mart a while back and they are the only ones that I have seen that would fit. Another problem that I discovered is that since the sunglass compartment is so close to the roof, it acts as a little oven on sunny days. If your glasses have metal frames they are way too hot to even wear.

Hell ya.... I have two pairs of Oakleys that don't fit in there! The second pairs I bought specifically for the car because they looked like they would fit, but no luck once I got in the car.

I checked out a couple on line and some of them look good. Do you know which ones you have (please not wire rim please not wire rim please not wire rim)?

Yep, sorry they are wire rims.....I think they are called tiny bubbles (oval lenses). I really like the Jims though....real good quality and optics.

My Kenneth Cole's fit great. (And before you ask, they're actually guy's sunglasses--too many of the frames for girls just look trendy to me.)

I have oakley Why 3s, and they do fit, they are not a particularly narrow design, the arms extend farther out when they are closed up.

they are not a loose fit, it must be place in at an angle in the right orientation, but they fit in there just the same.

I thought the "this is where the nav system would have gone" compartment is where the cell phone goes.

Actually, you can fit an overnite bag in there. I'm just afraid the door might break off if I use it...

A little flimsy and hard to close sometimes.
