LOL at this thread.

The facts are this. America loves Automatic vehicles and always has. In England no one drives autos and it shows because you never see a debate like this.

It is so funny to see all the MT fanboys who have just discovered how to dip a clutch and then hate on AT drivers.

Just drive what you wanna drive and let other people do the same.

Nissan was smart making an auto available. If it wasn't available they would have sold half. Plus the manual is MUCH more powerful anyway, with more power out of the engine and more power going to the wheels due to loss in the auto. They really satisfied everyone like this. They satisfied the people who can't drive manual as well as the enthusiasts.

The only thing I don't like is that because of the auto version there are too many Zs around my area. People don't stare much anymore.

True the Z was definitely built for an American market so Nissan would have had to be complete blithering idiots not to build an auto version.

Hmmmm...The manual is MUCH more powerful???

I really don't know since I don't swing that way. Maybe you can shed some light?

I don't believe you are being truthful here, since I see more than a few of you MT fanboys slinging ball sacks together.

For the record, My ZO6 is an auto and I enjoy it quite nicely.

I'm not really referring to upgraded auto transmission such as the AMGs AT or SMG transmissions. I'm not sure if your Z06 is faster auto than manual but a true sports car should always be manual; unless, its a "performance based" auto like SMG and so on.

I bet you would enjoy it quite more if it was stick. Or at least a majority of Z06 owners.

Was only kidding about the Z comment. They only come in MT's. I just don't see why many of the MT drivers are so insecure that it bothers them when they see an AT sports car. It's none of your business to wonder why they drive what they do and certainly not in your job description to attempt to convince otherwise.

And you can throw around this term, "true sports car" all you want, but you are ignoring the FACT that an AT 350Z is just as much as sports car as your MT.

Cars that only come in MT's are for a reason. Reason being it's a "true sports car" IMO.

Unfortunately, the Z is also a show car as much of a performance car so Nissan had to make an AT.

The Z's that are for show only are NOT anything like Z's for performance. And I bet you those show Z's are all autos.

no, there actually is a difference between AMG mercedes autos BMWs SMG and regular Nissan autos.

I've said it before so don't tell me I'm changing my argument.

Its not a REGULAR nissan auto in fairness though. Your argument is a TRUE Sports car should not be auto.

What makes it different? I don't see any difference or have heard of any in Nissan's 350Z AT and it's Altima's AT. Please enlighten me?

yes, my argument is a TRUE sports car should be auto minus the highly upgraded ATs. I've said this in another thread as well.

So an AMG/SMG Merc/BMW with 4 doors is more a sports car then an AT 350Z?
