Chances are it won't lead anywhere. It never does. Some people can't accept the fact that the only way they are able to experience their freedom is to let others experience theirs. Shut up G20. I am not racist, I do not have any slaves but you know what? If someone wants their avatar on a chat board to be a flag, so what? Some people have dancing naked ladies. Do you take offense to that and demand change? You can disable avatars in your options. Why don't you go ahead and do that?

Actually, California became a state in 1850. Thus, we were a state before the start of the Civil War.
And, we were very much on the side of the Union.
The above commentary is made by an Asian male who no longer actually lives in California, which once passed the "Asian Exclusion Act"...throw that into the mix.
And America is pretty great.

I just wanted to be amused by his answer....thus the question.

It's called heritage, not hate. I am a confederate civil war reenactor, and the confederate flag to me is a symbol of my ancestors fight for sovereignty. The more you study the war the more you'd understand the complex mosaic of issues that instigated it. This is America, so if someone has pride in their forefathers and their fight for self determination, then shut your pie hole.

Here is an interesting LINK on this topic. It seems that, when they made it to the eastern U.S., the Californians officially fought as the 71st Pennsylvania Volunteers.
Thanks for straightening me out.
