Default Can this be easily fixed??

While passing an 18 wheeler this afternoon, something flew out from under his wheels and struck my front wheel. When I got home, I noticed the 3/8" bash in the edge of my wheel and a small cut in the sidewall. The air pressure has remained fine so I don't think there is any sidewall damage. Question.. Does it pay to have the damage to the wheel repaired?? If so, who in the New York City area does this??

Thanks in advance..

Just glad whatever it was didn't hit the body..

Default Wheel - Tire

The wheel can be fixed, but that wouldn't bother me too much, you won't notice it after a while and wheels get banged up all the time.
However, you had better replace any tire with sidewall damage.

Thanks for the replies. The damage to the tire looks much worse than it is. I have no idea what flew out from under the truck but I had a local mechanic friend look at it and it's just barely nicked.. Less than 1/32nd of an inch into the sidewall.. I have a complete spare set of 18" wheels and tires with 17 miles on them that I purchased from e-bay for $1250. I may replace that wheel and bring the damaged wheel/tire in for a closer look. Looks like they will make a good investment..

that repair could run in the hundreds to be honest, for a real repair, bondo and repaint, I had a similiar, he quoted me 300$, mine was a bit deeper, but I was suprised to say the least when he said that.
