I get quite alot of compliments about my Z. Which is good. But also get negative jealous remarks. My coworkers tell me to get rid of it and get a suv or something. Some dont even talk to me after when I got the Z. My friend drives a 2000 Maxima and tells me trade it in for the 2004 Maxima. Its not the same when I got my Z. I dont brag about my car. One time I was coming out of my Z and this guy in a Honda suv tells me he has dvds and all kinds of sh*t in it. I mean the Z is a affordable car for most. I know its not an exotic. But I feel like I'm driving one

Hehe. Then your co-workers are morons who don't know very much about physics or mechanics. If they did, they'd have sedans, wagons, or mini-vans instead of SUVs. That's not our problem.

I have an SUV...and having one is like being overweight. If you like being slow and carrying extra luggage while expending all your fuel then follow the American trend!

yup, I have friends that are looking for cars, and Im like, get an old maxima SE, there quick cars.

they dont want a quick car... I just dont understand how you could own a car with anything less than the most powerful engine plant.

they think Im crazy for driving what I drive... some people just dont understand.

 

When they say stuff like Oh i got dvd n all kinds of stuff in my car, u should open up ur cubbie and say this looks like a lcd screen/dvd/tv tuner too.... oh and I don't need mroe than 1 cuz both ppl WILL be enjoying this set up

 

Most people I have talked to have been really nice. Most are really interested in the car or old 280Z owners. However, there are a couple asses out there.

One asked "Aren't you scared to drive that car? Why don't you buy something safer like an SUV?"

I answered with the following list:

1. SUV's are more dangerous to their owners and others
2. SUV's are 50% profit for auto makers
3. SUV are bad for the environment due to needless (note needless) fuel consumption.
4. I don't want to contribute to some stupid arms race on American roads.

I then simply stated "Nice H2. What's next, a M1-A1 Abrahams?"

I hate the H2 and it seems, so do most of their owners.

Yeah whats with those H2s? I see them where I work at. those things are useful in the desert or the dirt mountain roads. This same woman drives it a couple of miles to go shopping. Damn thing is so big. Dont want to get hit by one of those.

Yup...including their owners. A survey was cionducted for all new model cars and trucks for 2003. Of all the new models, the H2 was rated WORST by its owners. The primary reason was rather obvious: they didn't expect the gas bills to be THAT bad. They are really rated low. I wonder where the Z rated since it is also new for 2003?

I passed a Hummer (Army Reserve Ed.) over the weekend and then about 5 minutes later an H2. My first thought was what a whimpy version the H2 is of a truly incredible vehicle. To borrow a phrase, "Your H2 is just a a real Hummer in panties". I bet that Ford would not have been so lucky if it would have hit a "real" Hummer.

 

I hate H2's. They get what something like 8 or 9 mpg. How the hell can anyone afford that, on top of the 50-60k they cost.

Lost my original post. Anyway, Hummer H2s dont have a single real Hummer peice on them. They are made of GM truck parts all peiced together. They are basically FrankenTruck. Anyway, they are ugly and they momma dresses them funny. Here is a pic of the new H3 coming out soon! WooHoo.. cant wait for this catastrophe to hit the road. Looks like an Avalanche on crack. Ich bin eine Hummer Hater.

If the last comment were true, at my svelte 295lbs, I should be driving a Lincoln Navigator. Never happen no matter what, I like to "wear" my cars. Tell that to some of your moron co-workers, I drove a MR2 Turbo for 7 yrs and 128,000 miles at 6'5" and 250lbs! No offense meant, but I will NEVER own an SUV and I just ate and I weigh 300lbs! The Z fits like a glove and I'm old, 59! What a bunch of wimps. Take one of the worst offenders out for a drive and watch him suck up the seatcovers when you hit 130mph!
