Default 03 Performance to 07 Base!

I just traded my 03 performance (32k miles) that I've had for about 3 months for a 07 Base model (7.6 k miles), I had a negative from the previous Z and I bought the extended warranty on top of the 7 year 100k miles for powertrain. I also didnt have a downpayment. This car was used by coorporate nissan, and it is in excellent condition, I love the 07 wheels...... I was putting gas in it and found a big chip on the rear passanger rim, the sales person (who was really helpful) said he would talk to the sales manager to get me another wheel (he also got me floor mats).....

My Performance was in really good condition, but it was starting to age and the fact that it wasnt under warranty bugged me. Ive had this 07 Base for a couple of hours now and I like it more and more..... It doesnt have the PSI on the TC, and it doesnt have TSC like the Perf. did, but its a good trade off to me.

Is there things you guys can tell me about the 07 Base that I might not know?

Opinions on trade?

thanks.

The most common complaints about the Base are lack of cruise control and lack of LSD.

None of the 07s display the tire pressure but it still has TPMS. You only get the low pressure warning.

Why would they not display the tire pressure? My '06 shows the PSI - which was quite helpful when the temps changed here in Northern TX....

Because in 2007, Nissan stopped displaying the pressure in the triple gauge. Don't know why - they just did.

That is one of those things that makes me scratch my head....I mean - come on! They have the info - why not display it. I admit I was pleasently surprised when I saw it in my car.

The theory is that there were too many complaints that sensors weren't accurate and the display wouldn't match the actual tire pressure so they went with a simpler design that just warns you when it gets to 31, at least that't when mine goes off. It would be nice if it told you which tire but its not that big of deal, has to be taken carre of regardless.

But so far - mine are very accurate. When it showed me 25lbs the other day - it was dead on. Brought it up to 32 and all is well. Then I see that they all should be 35 - still have to add 3lbs in each....especially since the weather has crashed from a temp standpoint around here....

I guess that you traded the 2003 for the 2007 because you wanted a 2007. So you got what you wanted.

^ Yes, but OEM LSD only will rip a new one for you at the dealership. Shop around for much cheaper and better performing aftermarket LSD for your base.

LOL, wouldnt it void my warranty to install an aftermarket LSD outside the dealer?

IMO, you downgraded plus you went negative . as for the 07 Base, it is pretty much the same as any other year base out there. that is the bare minimum.

Meh I tried to stay away from Base because no LSD, and I wanted some little perks like the Cruise control, audio controls on the steering wheel etc.

I def think you did a GOOD thing by upgrading but I would have done homework and went enthusiast like me. Hey, the HR engine was worth it.
