Default Dealer placed order for 2004 350Z Coupe today!

Just got a call from my dealer telling me that they have been given the green light to order 2004 coupes. The pre-ordering delay seems to be finally over! They are saying 60 - 90 days till delivery! Check with your dealer all you 2004 takers!

My dealer (Modern Nissan of Concord) says that the memo said that Brickyard is no longer available. Still no price yet. I'm sure she will be worth every penny!

Do they know what new colors (like liquid silver), if any are going to be available for '04?

Have you heard if the bodystyle is going to change a lot?

I'm still confused about ordering '04 coupes. The dealer I've been talking to, Trohpy Nissan in Dallas is probably the largest Z dealer in Texas, with 20 cars on the lot. I talked to their salesmanager last week-end and he said they wouldn't be able to order a Z for a couple more months.

There still is no pricing information, no information on changes to the car, nor any information on the new color. Basically, there is no information at all except for the dropping of the brickyard color, but we all knew about that for months.

How can official orders be placed if you don't know how much the car is going to cost? Did you get a copy of an offical form showing the order placement? Did you get a delivery date estimate?

Have people who want the '04 convertable had official orders placed for it yet?

Sorry about the delay! Here's what my dealer is telling me:

Two weeks ago I talked to him about ordering a coupe but I was unsure of which year to order. He said, I can't place an order for a 2003 till my order window, which is June 5 - 9th. So, he calls me on Thursday evening and says, "My sales manager just walked around the office asking if anyone knew of someone looking for a 2004 coupe. I told him, I've got one. He said great, I've just been given clearance to place our september stock order and that is when the 2004's will be hitting showrooms!"

I gave him my spec's and he placed the order. No price though!

I just ordered the '04 Z on Friday. My dealer told me that when he went to order the '03 Z that I origially wanted that they couldn't anymore.

He told me that since the '04's ordering had opened that '03 was now closed. So I have an '04 on order and he said it would be 60-90 days.... Again, nothing solid on price, he just thought they'd be right at the same sticker as the '03's.

hey micas,
they probably told you that the 04s weren't available yet cuz they had 20+ 03s on the lot. go to a different dealer if you want to order an 04. but then again like webtoker said, you'll probably get a good deal on an 03

I placed an order in the end of March and was told 60-90 days. Well I found out it's going to be closer to the 90 days because they missed the order date for the 03's so I am getting an 2004. Now here's the kicker I am only going to pay for an 03 not an 04 since I already have the invoice with the negotiated price. I would have to believe the dealer is on the hook for the price increase. Correct me if I'm wrong.
