As an aside, if I HAVE to park next to someone, I always memorize their plate, make, and model. Does this make me psycho? Yes I know it's not a sure fire way to get someone who parked next to you, but it's a starting point.

UPDATE:

So I decided to take the plunge and go through insurance, cause most of the quotes I've been getting have been way above 500. Averaging close 1000 to fix the bumper cover. About 330 for a brand new bumper cover and 500+ for the labor and paint with the flex additive. Plus I just don't have 1K to drop right now.

I spoke to a handful of AAA agents. One or two sounds like they didn't know what the hell they were talking about. Can someone please train the youngins better? The helpful ones made it clear to me that my Insurance rate will NOT go up since I was not in the car and since it was not my fault.

I've had a clean driving record for 11 years. I'm glad this won't be against me points wise. Too bad there aren't any witnesses or decent people to leave a note on your car. I still gotta drop cash on the deductible. Oh well.

Not psycho at all. Better to be safe than sorry. Unfortunately, my damage didn't leave any paint traces, because I remember the make and model of the car that was parked next to me. But didn't jot down the plate.

I could start parking far away and walk my *** to my destination. F^&#K it ... I'm in shape, I aint a lazy bastard.

Maybe hog two spaces? Nah, I think people hate that with a passion.

The cool thing was they showed me the flex paint they used for their bumpers. Showed me a freshly painted bumper and flexed the hell out of it without the paint cracking.

That was after he looked at my car and basically said...OH S#&$T. And told me whoever did the last paint job on this bumper sucks *** because of the way the paint cracked upon flexing.

Lesson learned so far? Make sure you get some flex additive on that paint!

I'll keep updating this thread during the next couple of days. Still planning to get other quotes, but I would rather pay more for quality work.

Thanks for you opinion and advice guys! I appreciate it.
ummm, any time you paint urethane, you will have to use flex additives. Stock paint has flex additives. You can go so far before it cracks though.

Thank you... Some people just don't recognize that there are people that have professional careers and work hard for their Z's. Obviously some people have enough time to "judge the quality" of the threads.

Like I said, there are haters out there.

Ahh. Like I said. I'm a newb, so bear with me. Still learning something new everyday. I did buy the Z used, so I'm not surprised if someone did a crappy paint job before I got it.

no problem. I just hate how a person can take advantage of another person by making something seem like it's special.

The paint on your bumper is actually decent. From the looks of it, it took a nice little hit. The paint and bumper held up great. I worked at a body shop before and repaird much worse stuff before replacing the bumper. Insurance adjusters know when to get a new bumper and in the pic, they would never replace that.

I had the same situation before and i just fixed it out of pocket. Your insurance rates might slightly go up and you will still have to pay your deductable I hate that feeling when you walk up to your car and discover it was hit
