Actually not true. The egg yolk is what causes most of the damage. It has acids in it. It eats through the paint and causes the problem you have.
The egg wasnt on there for very long. It came off really easy and I cant tell it was ever there, so unless the paint starts showing damage later I think I'm OK as far as where the yolk and egg whites were. The pictures are showing chips in the paint caused by the shell of the egg. Upon inspecting the car in the daylight however there are pieces of shell and places where egg whites have dried to the paint, little specs that I couldnt see in the dark. Im worried now. I have my detail guy coming by today for advice.

And yeah the car is pretty dirty thats what happens when your dd is down and the weather is bad. Usually it looks like this,

The chipped paint damage he has is from the egg shell. The egg will eventually eat away at the paint, but that takes a little while. I had the same thing happen to my car.

P.S. The car's paint swirls hurt my eyes.

you need a good buff job with a rotary. It will make that egg incident look A LOT better. I have buffed some egg and ham (yes, i know it's weird) spots before. Ham leaves a mark as well. It can be taken out 85%. I'm more worried about your halogram marks all over your car. Seems like you dont' know how to wash your car.

Thanks for all the concern guys. The swirling is really really bad and I hope that I know how to wash my car!! The last guy that detailed my car did something to my paint when I got it back the swirls were unbelievable!! He tried to get them out and couldnt. I honestly dont know what to do Im so bummed about my car and the paint etc. And if any of you recall the hell I went through with the bodyshop screwing my car up originally...

Basically when I wash my car I dont use high pressure EVER.
I park in the shade
rinse the car off first
wash the roof with Meguires car wash and microfiber mit
inse Roof
wash passenger side door
rinse
repeat panel by panel
and I save bumpers side skirts wheels for last
if the car starts drying I wet the whole car down in between panels
Then shammy

The car used to look great after every wash no swirls, water spots, hologram, or scratches. EVER.

What do I do wrong if anything?

well, after every car wash, there will be swirls/water spots/scratches always, it's just not a lot if you know what you are doing.

prerinse the car and let it sit for a minute or two, then rerinse it again.

wash wheels/tires first with a different mitt from the one for the paint.

get out two buckets. One filled with clean fresh water, the other bucket with soapy water

wash your car from top to bottom, rinse the mitt out with the fresh water before dipping into the soapy water

The reason i see people with swirls and halograms, is that they use cheap wash mitts or cheap drying towels. You have to spend money on good ones that are soft for the paint. walmart stuff and autoparts stuff isn't going to cut it. That halogram looks like it came from a cheap drying towel.

if you were closer, i would fix all of the halograms and swirls and bring it back to original shape. THe 350z has harder paint to work with but i've done it enough to know what to do.

if you are using a cheap buffer, it won't do anything to take out swirls. Prewax cleaner is not needed if you are using polish. Nu finish has fillers in them to temporary fill in swirl marks not not fix them at all. After a car wash or two, it will show again. Autozone has some of the worst microfiber towels. Try pakshak.com for nice towels.

Go read on paint forums or detail forums about what a EGG does to paint.

Go crack a egg put the inners in a bowl and dump it on your hood. Come back and let us know how your paint looks after a little bit.
God, you like to argue don't you? I see you arguing on every other thread.

You think liquid cracks paint at impact? I wiped mine off immediately after the egg hit my car and it still left the circular impact pattern because it's the EGG SHELLS that damage the paint initially, not the egg yoke or egg whites. If you don't think egg shells aren't hard enough to do any damage to your paint, break up some egg shells then rub them on your paint and let me know what it does.

And no duh, a rock will do more damage than an egg shell, but it doesn't mean that the egg shell can't damage the paint. Plus, the egg shatters on impact, dispersing the damage over a wide area. The rock may impact one point leaving a dent with small chip in the middle. The egg will shatter so it won't leave a dent, but the shattered egg shell fragments chip the surface of the paint, leaving that nice circular pattern.

why are you using a rotary with nu finish? and no, it doesn't last for a year. that's their slogan though.

The shell is definitely hard enough to damage paint.

Vandals don't stick around long enough for you to do anything.

Here is my list:

1) You cannot do anything to a vandalist if he isn't at the scene of the crime (unless you have evidence or a witness)
2) Avoid taking the car to the mall
3) Clean your car
4) Park in the back of the parking lot, but make sure camera poles are visible (some people do not like park in the back, but from my vandalism-free experience, it helps)
5) Avoid taking the car to the mall
6) Remove the black door handles. They look cheap.

not really. Nu polish/finish is just a sealant. In easier terms, it's wax with no wax properties in it. That's why they can't call it a wax. The ingrediets in it doesn't even take out swirls. It is suppose to be applied by hand and taken off by hand. Simple process. If you are using a rotary, you can damage the paint. If you used a DA buffer, it would be much better but still an over kill.

I'd file a claim. It should not count against you at all. If it does, find another Ins company...
