subaru owned us WTF?
With sells of over 200,000 units in the 2 seater sport car arena. Where sells are spars and far and in between. Unless a Icon like the Porcshe, Corvette, Mustang or 350Z.
Why would they use RX-8 the public would just say so what my mini-van can do that, and they couldn't use the word mighty, they have to say mini engine size wise.
Anyway 5.3 seconds with 5 people = 350-700lbs in it. That wouldn't beat a 350Z unless he had coffee, donut in hand and was looking down adjusting his radio. And wouldn't beat a 06-08 if it was just the driver in the SUV.
Advertisment the food of fools that want to believe it.
It is a nice looking compact SUV with a reliable turbo charged engine, I wonder why they didn't pick on a leader in its own field like the RAV4. I guess they knew the public would still say it still not a Toyota.
Anyway how one can tell you are way up the ladder on anything is that you butt end starts looking like a target. MIGHTY 350Z lets take a bow.

Since most people here proably don't know. Subaru's marketing goes waay out there. I am out of town right now, but I have some great older ads that were put out by subaru.
1. they took a big jab at vw's fast (hillarious)
2. an old outback add was, "likes to get dirty and put away wet"
3. another old outback was, "at least we have our priorities straight"
For such a small co, they have some great advertising that really seems to be aimed at current owners vs. potential buyers.

Being a previous WRX owner I have lots of respect for Subaru. Their engineering is VERY sound and the reliability shows it, especially in the Impreza line. THe truth is that a lot of WRX owners used to be pissed because the XT was faster then the 02-05 2.0L WRXs. Now, with the 2.5L in the Impreza, the tide has shifted. Anyways, with all those people in the car, yes, XT would loose to the Z. But, that same XT with relatively small amount of work can be made into a very fast car: full downpipe and Enginuity reflash, your basic stage 2 setup. Stage 2 XT will blow the doors off the Z. And with the rest of the money left over, a nice set of coilovers will put it not too far behind the Z in traction.
As far as looks and luxury, yeah, I don't think we need to talk about that. Subarus are supposed to be ugly

The whole 0-60 thing is a little overrated I think. There's just so much more to the overall experience. For me, the "fun" factor is way more important than being the first one to catch up with the back of the school bus.
