ive grown up I have got that mentality now. I really want a house!

about me paying it off, I have been paying double every month for the past 2 years, so I think it well be paid off by the end of this year or early next year.

every time I have had to replace somthing i up grade it, hence the JWT pop charger and may be for the clutch a JWT set up as well.

but so far im a bit confused

why even fix it? with 95k on the engine dont drop any more money into it than you owe to the bank!!!! sell it privately and try to get the most you can pay off the note and then put whats left over as a down payment for something new!!!

I voted to trade but the more I think about it I say keep it and get a house while it's a buyer market. Then you can do like some of us do and start modding bit by bit until you have a car that is better than new. Just my 2 cents though.

I voted to keep it for now. Don't trade it. Get yourself your house first.
Then once you get settled in. See if the new z's are what you might want.

I'm about the same as you I think.
I can afford a GTR also. But I decided I wanted a house instead. I am
thinking about a Z. I was an Rx7 guy for over 10 years. I had three of them.
I just sold them all. Paid off some loans. I'm buying my house right now.
Should be in by end of January. I was looking at buying a Z. Though I
do have to test drive one yet. I seen that they are redoing the Z here soon.
So what I'm thinking about doing is buying a used Z. Drive it for awhile.
Then maybe trade it in on one of the new one's. I might even wait until
the new one's come out. But I don't know if I can wait that long.

Everything that has been done to the this car has been done by Nissan. All oil changes have been done with full synthetic and changed 1k before its up. I just had it looked over by Nissan and they were amazed how the car still feels when driving it. They say the car is in good shape engine wise and body wise except for a new clutch though.

Its age is starting to show and there is a few things wrong with it. I have been thinking about either trading it in or keeping it and paying it off. I owe about 11k on it.

Here is a list of the issues.

1. Seats need to either be replaced or put new leather.
2. Bose systems subs stop working. (I think it’s a fuse).
3. Cubby door broke
4. coin box is broken
5. steering wheel is fading on the aluminum.
6. needs new drive belts
7. new clutch and flywheel.
8. trunk needs a little pice to make it open a bit better.
9. people say the paint is fine, but I see scratches and chips and would like to repaint it.
10. makes cabin noise.
11. starting to get the musty smell, so I need to replace the ac filter.
12. New battery
13. inside dome lights wont work now

In all its about 4-6k to fix and make the car look new again.

My question is would you keep it? Or trade it?

All the car has done as in after market is: JWT pop charger and G35 19” forged rims.

If you have any solutions to any of the problems I have please tell me.

Thank you for your time guys
it depends. Would you end up backwards if you traded it? I would say that with the miles you may owe more on the car then it s worth. If thats the case keep it and run it in to the ground. If you would make a profit then yes trade it in

instead of paying everyone to do what needs to be done do what you can by yourself. for normal wear and tear pieces wait for a good deal to come by on this forum for a good quality used piece... i really see maybe 3k worth of repairs total and that seems to be high to me. i bet you could get all that fixed for under 3k if you really shopped. and 95k on a vq is nothing. my sisters maxima has 160k on it and that engine still runs strong.

Keep it, you save money and there wont be a big difference between yours and an 08.

I havent asked what dealer would give me, but i think may 8-10k, think i can sell it for 12-14k if im lucky

also if i do alot of crap to it i wont get it back with the milage i have on this thing. even if its magazine conditions i wont get more than 16-18k for it.
So wait, you owe 10+K on a 03 with 100K, yet you have the money to buy a GT-R? A car that will most likely near $100K in mark ups for the first batch? Even at $80K, I think you fail to realize how much money that truly is.

All the problems you listed are simple fixes. I say just keep the car. The 350z can go for a long time. You are just at your mainainence stage.

dont waste ur money repairing it.

its not like you wont get any more money off of selling it.

an 03 Z with 95k miles prolly goes for around 14k.
and if u repair that ****, u wont be able to sell it more than 14 anywayz.

just sell it for what its worth. and buy a new one. figuring since ur saying u can afford a GTR haha. and u can keep ur life style youre loving.

A house is an investment a car isn't. I'll vote to keep it and fix it up as money allows after you get into a house. If you can't put up with it that long I'd fix the clutch / AC issues. The other items really aren't that pricy except the paint. I'd live with the paint and not worry about door dings for a while. Then, after your into your house get a kick *** pearl paint job on the car or something like that as a reward. I do things like that. Wait a while longer and get the nicer thing ..... ;-)

Let me add - It's nice not having a car payment and paying all that interest. A paid off car is always better than a high payment new car imo. That is of course, if the car is a sound one. That is what it looks like you have already to me.

I didn't know your zip code but put in 90210 at the Kelly Blue Book web site and it sounds from your description the car is only in fair condition. Here is what they provided for pricing -

Excellent $13,200

Good $12,230

Fair $10,500

I dont think you know me well enough to know how much i make yearly! and trust me i can afford the car! i been on my own since 21 and I know many members that know me personaly can confirm this, its a matter of getting priorities straight and right now its a house!

and about me getting a house now im waiting to get the right one, I dont want to make a big mistake in buying a house im not going to be happy with.

I have no credit debt and all i have is my car and i dont want to pay it off all in one shot because its a form of building better credit.

Get a house. This is a no brainer, unless you live in an awful market.

I wish I still had my 03 Z. I sold it, bought a condo a few months later, then turned around and got an 07 a few months after that. I only sold the Z so I could get a good mortgage rate (accomplished) but I'm still pissed about that. My 03 had some nice aftermarket extras and would be close to paid off by now.

Keep your 03 and fix it up little by little. Put your money into a house. It's a good investment over the long haul.
