I just bottomed out HARD, was coming up a slight incline at about 10-12mph... and BAM dead stopped... it was a slightly raised manhole.. what exactly could i mess up besides the oil pan or exhaust??

your best best is to take a look under the car first. if you start to notice some problems then take it to a shop.

3,000 pounds of steel landing on any part of the undercarriage can be damaging. Only way to know is put it on a lift.

+1 on everything

If you start noticing problems take it in and see what you might have messed up. Check your oil pan for leaks.

its been parked for about an hour and no fluid signs underneath so thats a good sign, exhaust sounds normal and it still drives straight... seems like im ok i guess... you cant mess up your transmission like that can you?

probably not with what happened to you. but it is possible if you bottom out REALLY REALLY hard, then yes.

but if you bottom out that hard, you have more to worry about than just the trans. maybe some chassis bends or mis alignment of all the suspension bits.

i doubt it was THAT hard though.

hahaha, you should be fine. If anything it could have messed up your alignment, but apparently not.

it probably hit the exhaust. .in my shop i have a older middle ground style lift. .and i was going slow as hell over it and it just caught my tp/h pipe connections and car wasn't going any further. .my thing is. .Be More Careful when Driving. .I swerve everything. .except for deer!!! haha

At that speed I don't see any major damage. You mentioned you didn't see any fluids leaking or a change in sound/idle so that's a good sign for you.

Lift it, check the exhaust, oil pan, tranny, and diff. Then take her for a drive an test the allignment. Thats what I would do for peace of mind. If you notice anything otherwise, like others have said, take it in. Luckily you were going fairly slow.

It's a pretty tough chasis. I ran over a 3 foot wide median and the car handled it like a champ....

done that before, different car though, no damage. I also skipped over a car battery on the freeway, no damage, but it did leave a streak of red from the battery plastic. I had to chase the truck driver down...he was only concerned about his battery. I was like WTF!? I could have died if I didnt straddle it!

I bottom out everyday over the speed-bumps going to work. You shouldn't worry about it if nothing is leaking.

Yup, been there done that too in a similar situation. Thankgod I was going extremely slow and had no damage apart from an apparently bent exhaust hanger that will be replaced with my new exhaust. Just check for leaks, alignment problems or anything else out of the ordinary.
