Default Question for NJ 350z owners

I purchased my 350Z from another state. Now it is time to get the car registered.I only have a copy of the title,my credit union has the original.I also need to transfer the title over to a NJ title. Can I do this with the copy or do I need the original? Thanks for the info.John

I recommend you go to a NJ DMV.

You'll need the original!

go to the dmv and go to the "info" line. get a reg sheet where they'll have you request that the bank send them the original. Then when the get it...they'll call you.

When I did this for my leased Z - Chase auto finance sent me the title directly (with a power of attorney). However, they also paid theu "use tax" for me - which was $1145. Now since I KNEW I was leaving jersey 7/15/03, I basically sent everythig back and never registered the car in NJ.

NY is good enough for me
