I bought my 03' in 2005 and it had 15k on it. I found several valet tickets for SF parking garages and tahoe casinos under the driver seat.
I put 40k on it in a year but mostly highway miles as I made several 1200 mile trips from california to vancouver and back. Also, a few trips to LA and back which is about 800-900 miles round trip from where im at in california.
Im currently looking to pick up another used one with less then 20k on it as I plan on going F.I. this time.

Personally I wouldn't purchase a used sports car with over 20,000 miles. But that's personal preference.
I was looking for a Z 2 years ago, and came across a 2003 DB Z at a Mercedes dealership. It had a full set of Rotora Big brake kit, intake, 19 inch Nismo wheels. Custom stereo, and some appearance work done under the hood. Absolutely beautiful and stunning car. It had 58,000 miles on it and they wanted $23,0000 for it. I was going to buy it, but only if they dropped the price $4500. After thinking about it, the car was probably driven hard and 58,000 miles on a sprtscar is too risky. Unless you are mechanically inclined which I am not.
The funny thing is this dealership was using all of the mods as a selling point. When in reality the person who traded there car in probably got less because it wasn't stock.

I got my 04' with 6k miles on it in sept of 06'. Me personally, I would not go above like 8k miles per year. Example: You want to buy an 05' I wouldnt buy it with more then 24k miles...thats just me though. In general I would get a sports car with less then 5k miles...still has that " like new " thing going for it( unfortunetly it will be priced as if it were brand new). You dont want one thats been run to death...you want one thats been babied and taken care of.

Miles are overrated. I was looking at some C5 Z06s with low miles. I found two recently, a 2003 with 5K miles and another 2002 with 10K miles. I drove to see both and suprisingly, my weekend 3+ year Z with 12K miles looks 2X better than theirs. The problem with the Vettes were dirty engine to shaky body surface, both cars were at Benz and Audi dealerships.
I would not buy sports cars with over 3K miles per year because a daily driver car will have more wear and tear especially sports cars. I rarely see cars in this category go slow, most drive fast as in the fast lane of the freeway. Buy weekend Zs and you will find some cheap. Someone here sold an Orange 2007 Z for $20,000 which was obscene.

hopefully the OP was able to gain some useful information out of it though, I guess it all comes down to preference. I personally didnt want the one that I bought to have over 30k, but obviously if I found an immaculate one that had 35k i wasnt going to shy away from looking at it.

i have a 2003 with 95k miles and i bought it with way less. I used to use my car for work purposes in san diego.
car runs fine needs new clutch and the sun is starting to kill the paint in the trunk deck.
