Default What Z to buy ?

Cars like wine have good and bad years so:

I'm interested in your knowledge/facts about what Z wold be best to buy and witch Z i should stay away.

what are the differences between years?
how many revision are out there (not talking just about 280HP engine 300 HP engine i refer to all the small details that are not the same)

for example i want to buy a Z that has wide bands from factory ,
in what year / month wide bands were introduced to Z? and how can i know if it has wide bands or not (without turning the car into pieces)

any factory recall on 350Z, on witch ones, and for what defects ?

PS:sorry if this was already covered , used the search but did not find something similar

........

You don't want the '03 wine, because it's a first-production year with a few problems that needed to be...um....filtered out

Late '04-05 seem ok (I had a late '04, it was....fine as wine).

Avoid '06 with the 300hp engine if you have to. Lets just say that batch of wine has a few leaking bottles.

'07-08 are the Chteau batch of wine out of all. Buy these if your pocket allows.

all this wine talks making me hungry

If you can afford it, I agree. If not, a 2004 would be a cheaper alternative.

Its cool. One problem is the difference between USD (United Sates Domestic) and EDM (Europe Domestic Market) models and specs. I know little about what is available in Europe.

I dont think that the 04s have widebands but i know the 06s do (05s?)
06s have oil consumtion problems (Mine eats at least quart between changes)
They all have shitty trannies (on my third)
definately go 07 and up if your looking for the least problems and waranty is golden

07-08 are the years you want.

But new Z is coming, just wait for that one instead. You've missed the boat on the 350Z parade, why get into the crowd now?

Wait for the new Z and be the first on your block to drive it

Thats tough considering none of us keep a list of links ready for people asking these repeat basic 350Z questions Its ok though, we are more than happy to help. But really though, the search function is helpful.

My 03 purs like a kitten, and roar like a lion. No engine, tranny, and tire wear problem. Buying a car in general is pretty much a crap shoot. GL on your quest.

personal preferences:
1) prefer to spend 16K on a SH 350Z + 20K on a FI system then 36K on the new 350Z
2) when you want more power is better to buy cars that are not exactly new because this way you will have, available om market, a lot of parts to chose, (someone have already done the reserch)
3) i believe I'm right on the spot for going FI, not to older car (i already have a 200SX RS13 CA18DET 10/1990 in Europe) ,and here in US i want something newer. so i had to chose between 240SX S14, Honda S2000, 350Z or a BMW . and the 350Z will have my money
