my conclusion is..people slam our Z's because they are used to slamming their JUNKS!!!

 

Honestly, I think that's it. I drove an 86 camry for quite a while, and the first time I got into a newer car, I unintentionally slammed the door as hard as I did on the camry (which was a tin can). It's just a normal reaction I think, since alot of cheap economy cars have flimsy feeling doors.

 

i had a friend who would freak out at anyone who closed his door hard (RSX) but when he came to ride in my car he somehow "forgot" how heavy my door was and slammed the **** out of it...

told him to GTFO and come back in nicely...:P

 

I agree on the harsh door slamming. I think it has to do with the doors seeming to be so heavy when you open them, but closing them is literally a breeze (the wind can do it! and HAS done it!).

 

This is my #1 pet peeve, #2 is people putting their knee all the way to the left and interfering with 5th/6th, then act like its my fault when i punch their knee as hard as i can

 

haha. .one time i grabbed my girls leg trying to put it into 6th. . .

 

+1 Knees in the way of the shifter, finger prints on the hatch and passenger door handle from opening and closing them, I wanna beat the sh** out of my friends who get in and treat my Z like ****. I end up closing the hatch with my finger in the black locking mechanism on the inside, and reaching into my handles to open them.

 

got the black Z. .i make sure people open and close the doors by the silver handles. .and not by my window or door, for no finger prints. .and i hate peeps who push on my hood to close it. .all you have to do is let it drop a tad higher and bam. .closes no problem. .same thing with the rear hatch. .no need to assist in slamming it. .my new rule has been. .NO ONE Drives with me. ..not even the GF. .we just take her car. .saves me miles/ and freaking out!

 

Everytime a chick gets out of my car shes says " oh my god , why are your doors so heavy ?! '' im like i get tired of awnsering back the same awnser but from now i usually get out of the car be4 she grabs the door handle , i go around ahd over the door for them im tired of them slamming the dam dooor

 

I tell everyone the Z comes stock with super-lightweight racing doors...

But yeah, it seems like people always slam my doors. It'd be cool to integrate a shock like they have on screen doors and whatnot

i was goign to by mini springs to put on the end of the doors to bounce it back. .

 

i yelled at my girl also about my doors lmao. But yea half the time the Zs doors actaully close themselve. One day this dude thought i had some auto door lock cause everytime i get out my doors close right behind me lmao.

 

What a funny thread... Guys have so much problems with their Zs....

My sister and gf used to do this all the time. I even tried the politely asking them to be careful. Well... one day, about a mile away from my sister's house, we stopped at a gas station and she decided to get out and SLAM THE DOOR! She went inside to get something, and I drove off. She hasn't slammed my door since, and either has my girl after I told her the story.
