Wrapped up in the hoopla.....
This post is just for fun, but how many of you out there actually started believing that your car would arrive in August because you pre-ordered on January 15th (or in the first week or so)? I know that the more excited and closer it got to August, the more I MADE MYSELF BELIEVE in such a thing known as first come, first served. Obviously, when I took a step back and realized the car business and all the many difficulties associated with production and shipping that it would not be that way.
However, I know I am not the only person that pre-ordered very early in the game that led themselves to believe in the old "first come, first served" game. Looking back, it was really stupid and naive, but many of us, myself included, got so caught up in all the excitement that we lost our ability to reason logically.
Let me give you an example: originally, I was told that I was pre-order slot 1 of only 1 (Hurray! Early bird gets the worm!). However, somehow or another my dealership got 1 additional pre-order slot later on (like March or so), but I was still pre-order number 1 of 2. Naturally, I illogically expected my car to arrive first, but was told by my dealer that pre-order number 2 will arrive on August 19th (+/- 2 days), while mine won't arrive till September 9th (+/- 2 days). Needless to say, I was kinda pissed (only for a little, though), but then I realized mine will be in soon, and I have seen so much complaining about stuff (antennas and cupholders anyone???) that now I am still all shi*s and giggles. Before we know it, our Z's will be here, so lets all just sit back and enjoy the final lengths of the ride!!
Oh, I did not put up this post so people could flame away crap like "You are so stupid" and "Don't you know anything about business or supply and demand?" However, I am sure JAK and other disgruntled Z-posters will do it anyway, so have fun! You still know that many of us out there MADE themselves believe they would get theirs first!
