Default Bay Area Road Test ???

Alright, all you Bay Area enthusiasts:

Give me some recommendations on where to test my Z in the Bay Area once I get my Z and, of course, once the break-in period has expired. Just open road please. No tracks requested.

I have a few in mind and would like to experience some new roads. Thanks.

Take a cruise up to Mendicino. Use Highway 1 for the way up and go through the Alexander Valley on the way back. Should give you a nice scenic run. Do your driving on weekdays. Less crowded.

try these:

1. Skyline Blvd, from 101 go West on 92; about 2/3 way to highway 1, Skyline starts (called highway 35 as well I think)

2. Calveras Blvd, go out of the city (Milpitas) and turn left at the pink house; this is around the Calveras reservoir; the road gets narrow at times, best to go early in the morning

3. Mount Hamilton, haven't been there but I heard it's fun; South of Calveras reservoir

I just tried some of these a few weeks ago on a trip to Cali. It was great fun to do them in a Civic SI. Kind of kept me going while waiting for my Z as I sold my Prelude and I'm driving an Oldsmobile in the mean time.

Have fun.

I like route 1 to stinson beach. Weekends are generally crowded, small narrow road but fun ..

When I get my Z I am going to go from south almaden (SJ) the back way (McKean Rd) to Gilroy (hwy 152) over the moutain to watsonville and then down to monterey and back to SJ through Santa Cruz. That will be a nice ride with varying road conditions.

Hwy 152 (Hecker pass) between Gilroy and Watsonville is great when there's no traffic. Also, Uvas road is really nice and not usually busy.

Check out this link for great roads in CA:

UPDATE:
!!!???? Wow, I just posted this message and when it came up I see the one before it, suggesting EXACTLY the same roads!
