350Z Commercials
This was posted on Freshalloy.com. I've heard a few rumors that commercials are in production, so this seems likely to me...- any predictions on when they're going to be on the air? Any guesses about the theme of the commericals or marketing slogans?

i was coming home from a long gloomy day in LA with my friend around 6:00 or 6:30 pm last saturday (may 18), and we were making a left hand turn (near City West) and the right side of the road was blocked off by police barricades. curiously i looked to see what was going on with all these trucks and people scattered here and there. to my surprise i see the silver 350Z with cameras attached to its sides and rears. obviously they were probably shooting a commercial and i wanted to stop and get out to watch, but i didn't want to be rude and ask my friend that . NEwayz, it looked beautiful and aggresive ! just thought id share

intro.... George Thoroughgood's "Bad to the Bone" starts to play as a black 350Z screams down a empty winding country road, almost taking flight on each hill. There are roses on both sides of the road, fields of them in fact.
voice over.... "The last letter in the alphabet is back. Introducing the all new 2003 Nissan 350Z. With 300* heart pounding horsepower and a entry level price of $26,239 that will give you a whiplash smile all the way to the bank."
cut to.... blacktop level and the 350Z enters into a 720 degree controlled spin, coming towards the camera at a high rate of speed, stopping inches from the camera, with the 18" rims in tight focus so you can read the word Nissan and behind the rim...you can see the word BREMBO on the brake pad.
voice over.... "Why on earth you'd want to stop to smell the roses, is beyond us."
cut to.... tight focus on rear Nissan crest, then pan out to full rear wheel and rear side of car. Rear wheels start to spin to the point they produce white smoke, the Z fishtails and accelerates down the country road at such a rate that all the rose petals are stripped from the flowers and whirl in the air behind the Z.
cut to.... side window of 350Z... camera pans in and through the tinted glass to reveal Mr. K. driving the car with this huge grin on his face, with his trusty Jack Russell terrier riding shot gun.... the camera pans out as you hear him laughing... as the Z hauls down the road with the rose petals whirling behind.
Nissan crest fills the middle of the screen, then fades to black.
hahaha...now I recall why I never went into commercials.
*- yes I know Nissan hasn't said 300 hp as of yet. They will though, they will. Right now it's 300 or 315. Yes, you can quote me.
well, it's official. I'm nuts

Now do you think its going to be the "real" Mr. K. in the commericials or the actor who was featured in the "Dream Garage" commericials of the late 90's? I'd be surprised if either were in the commericials, I think Nissan will want to distance themselves from the late 90's period as much as possible (given the dismal sales and products of that time period), and unfortunately only hard core Z folks would recognize the real Mr. K. Still, I think you did an excellent job with that!!!!! Excellent post J!

intro... Foghat's "I just want to make love to you" starts to play as a chrome silver enthusiast Z with kickplates and mats cruises onto campus at FSU ands pulls up to a light in front of a large sorority house.
cut to... Inside sorority house showers, an impossibly hot young sophomore sees the Z through the steamy frosted glass window. "Could it be?" she gasps, grabbing a towel and running towards the stairs.
cut to... The huge double doors of the sorority house burst open, as a bevy of nubile young coeds (most from the cheerleading squad or the gymnastics team) erupt from within wearing nothing but towels and run towards the Z.
cut to... The driver window of the Z slowly lowers as the dripping, excited girls surround the vehicle. The most beautiful of the lot (a member of both the cheerleading and gymnastics squads) leans down and whispers huskily to the driver "Is this yours?"
cut to... Closeup of drivers face (who has an uncanny resemblance to tbcz...perhaps played by Tom Cruise or Brad Pitt) whereupon he stares straight into the camera as a knowing, devious smile stretches across his face.
voice over... "The all new 300 horsepower 350Z. See where it takes you..." Scene from the rear of the Z as it takes off away from the camera, leaving a swirl of discarded towels fluttering and dancing in its wake.
P.S. I apologize for getting carried away...me and my ex-girl broke up about two months ago and perhaps I'm becoming a little...antsy.

So the latest is 315hp? That would be a huge improvement from 280+. Thanks for the info!

wait,
I want more info.
come on JmanZ, give us more.
how often has the 315 number come up? is it realistic? not that I wouldn't be extremely happy with 300, but 315.......

Okay... I made up the commercial completely, with my wife sitting behind me after she woke from the night before. She added the roses ripping off the flowers part. (she always was the smarter of us) (hehe)
The horsepower numbers are like this. I have heard the number 300hp being used more so than anything, but in the past week I have heard a few people saying 315hp. I have no idea if the car will have 315, personally I see it having 300hp.
I'd giggle like a school girl though if it had 300.
Won't be much longer though and we'll know for certain.

You "Right-Brained" people are amazing. All of those are really good. I consider myself a really smart person but could never come up with something like that. You guys watch. Some marketing person from Nissan will read that and you'll be seeing it aired! They'll probably change it just enough to avoid litigation. If I were you, I'd copy those and keep them safe. Who knows, maybe there will be royalties in your future!

Hey JMan, can you please let the newbies in on how you KNOW it will have at least 300 hp. Do you have inside knowledge of this or are you wishing like the rest of us? Much props on the web site by the way. Enjoy it much more than the "other" site.
