dammm it is james...i was jsut talking to a guy at PL and he was just talking to a guy named James , who he said was a very nice person, and assisted him on the installation.... this was last week. Its really sad that this is the same james....
1. How could the witnesses claim the Z was going over 100 mph? The last time I was going to Target, I was in first gear, driving past the front of the store looking for a parking spot doing 10 mph. When me and my wife parked, and walked into the store, this guy was yelling all upset saying "I have my kids with me, why are you doing 40 mph in the parking lot?" Me and my wife looked at each other confused. Point being, how can witnesses standing on the street have any idea how fast a car is going? By them saying "over 100mph" this instantly turns into a street racing-down with car modifications-speeding criminal accident, way before speeding is proved or ommited as a cause to this accident.
2. I would bet anything that the truck pulled out purposely once they saw the car comming down the street, I see this happen numerous times during the day.
3. RIP and condolences to the family of the driver....

Look at the pickup, the doors still open and the glass isn't even broken. No way that it was hit that hard. The Z's engine is still in good shape.
1. witnesses are a lot of times full of SHlT, and thats because they they assume things because a fast car is involved.... and also they have ZERO training at estimating speeds visualty...
2. it sounds to me like either the driver lost control because of the rain... or the truck cut him off coming out of the fast food place

yea i'd have to agree with Silver coupe.......bystanders can never have a good estimate on car speed.....
and the truck prolly over looked the low car or purposely pulled out b/c it was a low car.

Not saying that the witnesses are correct, but at least two people gave police that info. Also, that doesnt mean that the police investigators took that seriously either.
Anytime you're driving a sports car or motorcycle, people are going to assume you're speeding. Especially if you have a custom exhaust. Happens to me on the bike all the time.
It's sad for James and RPM. They are always nice to me when I go in.

Reminds me of one time anna and I were in my Z on ice and spun on I64 luckily not many cars were on but a truck barely stopped in time. That ice was awful.
I hope he didn't leave any kids

Just my 2 cents.

+1 I can't imagine getting to 100mph on that street during traffic times and with all the lights. I don't think there is enough open space that time of day.

Not to mention thats a horrible road. He could've just hit one of the potholes and lost control, but who knows.
I work out near Gaskins and Broad, and after 9 its pretty clear, still don't know why he would do it there... 64 is not that far away.
Truth about FI picking up quickly, but I have gone 60 on that road once around RPM at like 2am. The road was so awful I felt like I could have lost it at any time and it was summer with no rain.

First of all...............he lost control and jumped the median. The truck didnt pull out into him, the truck left Wendy's going east bound, the Z was going west bound and lost control and jumped the median and went into oncoming traffic

Sounds good about meeting up... any advice on which dealer around here is the best to work with, I've been talking with a few and so far I like Victory the best, but guessing I'll just play them against each other and see who gives me the deal. Thanks again.
There is a guy here on the boards, John@Victory, that is the internet sales manager there I think, he'd be the one I'd talk to. He's had a couple Z's but it waiting for his GT-R.
Get in touch with him, his name is John Littel (might be spelled incorrectly) but thats what I would go with.
Or, my credit union (Truliant Federal Credit Union) has a service where they will search the country for the best deal on a car for you. Generally you get $2k - $7k (based on my parents purchases through them) under MSRP. So, that might be worth a shot. Don't know how much membership costs, but it could end up saving you a lot.
If you want any help or anything let me know.
Mike
I remember an old, old TV "commercial" (it was posted by the Govm't, so I'm
not sure it qualifies as a commercial; probly just an announcement). A grave
voice said: "Remember always, obey the law." Speeding, running through red
lights, not yielding, aggressive driving, etc., kills/maims/destroys beautiful ve-
hicles, brings grief to families. You guessed it, I'm an old-timer who's been
around long enough to warn you young'uns: Be careful, obey the law, live
long, and enjoy the few years we'll spend on Earth.--From the AST zone.
