no dont buy the Z.

Buy some crack, sniff some paint, and join the crowd. Where the hell do you live anyway?

If you can afford a Z, maybe you should think of buying a house instead.

Peace out, young one,

I can afford a Z. Hell, I could afford a loaded Z4, but it's damn hard to afford a house in Cali...

I'd buy it (assuming you've done the house analysis thing...) and get a low deductable...

house is out of the question until i get married or salary increases by about 3k a month. condo might be doable within a couple years, but i'll probably go back to school before something like that. i'm in bay area, ca. trying to decide between wrx and z. there's only like 1 or 2 z's i've seen around here so it's gonna stand out a lot more than the subaru. just worried that it might attract people who like to hurt cars.

Make sure you have a nice place to house it otherwise it may make enjoying it rough. Imagine having to worry about your car getting vandalized and or stolen every time you park it. Plus if it does happen, imagine the headaches you'll have dealing with the whole mess.

Don't know where in the Bay Area you live but another option might be renting a garage. Pretty common in SF and Oakland. If you can afford the Z then the extra $100.00 or $200.00 a month till be well worth it. Plus it may actually bring your insurance down a little.

hey ml2316,
i'm also from the bay area...... where do you live??? if i were you, i wouldn't get the z, just so you can sleep in peace and not have to worry about your car in the parking garage. but if you're getting the z, maybe you should strongly consider moving into a place with a private garage or an apt. in a better neighborhood. good luck.

I would.

Buy a car cover so its not that showie. Buy an alarm with beeper so you would know when your alarm goes off. There will be haters and idiots anywhere you go. Good neighborhood or not. Dont let them get into your way of getting the car you want. Not worth it. Good luck

I'd still buy it if you want it.

It doesn't really matter that much as long as you look after it somewhat. I mean, you are going to park this car in a public place many times. There's nothing you can do about it there, so I wouldn't worry too much about it at your place.

Scratchs and dents will occur anywhere, good or bad neighborhood. As for the haters...they occur anywhere as well. Just try not to bring too much attention to your car (like parking it diagonal in spots) and you should be fine.

I'm a little paranoid, and have had my car stolen before so I would make sure that it is put in safe place that I know almost for sure will not cause problems. If you're going to buy it, get a garage, and be in the habit of finding nice places to park your car even if it means walking further (although I'm sure car enthusiasts shouldn't really have a big problem with that).

I completely agree. It can happen anywhere and anytime. Unless you have had specific problems with your current car, I wouldn't worry too much. I would also suggest to have Lojak installed.

Are other cars in the garage stolen or vandalized with any degree of frequency? If car security is not a general issue, then I would buy the Z & get a good car cover. Adding a security system might help as well.

if your comfortable parking ANY new car in the garage, I don't see why the Zzz would be a problem (with a cover)
