Get a big Rottie and tie him to your car... that should do the trick.

Guaranty that it will eventually happen.

Considering that the kids are only 10, point out a better place for them to play.

Doesn't have to be YOUR rottie - just find a neighbor with a mean dog and rent him out whenever you see the kids around your car... a dog like this would do!

dang....i'm afraid you're right. i'm thinking about moving my car to a different area of the apartment complex where maybe they don't play as much. i think they mostly hang out near my unit. there are covered parking units for rent, but none are available at the time...prolly because of them crazy kids!

World: Africa

Firing on all cylinders

A test driver disposes with some local difficulty

By Jeremy Vine in Johannesburg

Car drivers in South Africa are being offered a new method of preventing hijacking.

The BBC's Jeremy Vine witnesses a demonstration of the "blaster"

A blaster, flame-thrower operated by a foot pedal inside the car, blasts a jet of fire at a would-be hijacker.

A person confronted by an armed hijacker simply presses a pedal and the "blaster" ignites gas that shoots from the under-side of the car.

Doctors say the device is lethal - but the police have confirmed it is perfectly legal.

"Drivers - put up your hands and step on the gas"

Johannesburg seems to fill car drivers with fear. In the province which includes the city, there were 4,000 car hijacks between January and June this year.

People pull up at traffic lights, they stop their car and then someone comes up to the window with a gun and tells them to get out.

Charles Fourie, who invented the blaster, says drivers should put their hands up and then step on the gas.

"This is a case of opting for the lesser of two evils," Mr Fourie said.

"Either you get shot, your wife is raped, your child is murdered - against him getting burned."

No legal problems

Police say they cannot see any legal problems with the blaster - so long as the right people are blasted.

The blaster: Doctors are appalled

But Dr Kenneth Boffard, a surgeon who runs a trauma unit, said he is extremely concerned.

"I don't think the average person on the street has any concept of the appalling damage that burns cause," Dr Boffard said.

"The result of that is permanent, extensive and disfiguring."

"Innocent people are going to get caught.

" That's unacceptable."

Press the panic button, THEN go for the farmer/shotgun routine.

OR, combine all of the above suggestions, like so:

Pay them off.

Install a proximity alarm, equipped with flamethrower.

Release viscious, starving dog to feast on charred flesh.

They get money, the neighbors get a fireworks display, the dog gets to eat, and nobody EVER f*cks around near your car again.

Naa you dont wanna **** them off, kids are rebellious little bastards and they have all the time in the world to plot a dirty or even horrible trick on you. Personally i'd just go over and kindly ask them to play somewhere else so they dont hit your car accidentally. Or just go yell at them, you'd be surprised how effective yelling at kids can be.

But setting off alarms and shooting themm is just going to **** them off, and at least one is likely to retaliate... And do you really wanna babysit your car all day?
