Nissan North America justed called me
I'm sitting here checking out the new posts during my lunch hour and NNA calls me to tell me my order number, production month and that my dealer will have a vin # for me in about 4 weeks.
Good News: NNA does care and was very informative. Answered all my questions. Said 800 Z's are on the east coast. And should be getting to FL and GA dealers this week and the other east coast states by the end of the month.
Bad News: Apparently my dealer didn't send my order in until june so I will be getting my Z in Nov.
Hey at least they called.

I'm in FL and a similar thing happened to my order. I ordered on March 8 and the dealer faxed the order to NNA within the week. But the regional NNA office did not fax the order out until June. The reason I was given was that they were only allowed to order a certain number each month and they held the orders until they could fax their given number. I think the Jacksonville regional office messed up based on other descriptions here about how the ordering process was supposed to work. Mine was also scheduled for November but when I look at the sheet yesterday at the dealer is stated Dec 02 (meaning December 2002). ZISME has said that all preorders will receive their cars within the original time period stated and I have a Nissan confirmation that I will receive it between August and October. I don't know who to believe. This is very frustrating.
Maybe ZISME can shed some light on our Florida orders.

There must be something in the water, cause they just called me as well. I had called around July 1st to verify that my order had been switched to an Enthusiast from a Base and they said they would check and get back to me. Well, it only took them 7 weeks but they finally did (in the meantime, I had verified the change with my dealer). I did get one new piece of info from NNA, however, my car is being manufactured "late August" (I already knew that I had an October delivery date). Poor NNA, they just can't help themselves, even when they try, they still give out wrong info -- the Nissan rep. insisted that the VIN number would be available as soon as the car was manufactured, I explained to him, that it is not released until the car is on the boat, but he did not believe me. All well, que sera sera. I do give NNA credit for at least trying to improve the lines of communication, however. Now, if I could just perfect my time travel machine and set it for October 2002.

NNA just called and informed me that my order # is W178*** with a expected delivery of December 2nd. My confirmation letter said August to October. My package number was 596 so I don't think it was faxed late. It's hard to believe I have nearly four months to wait

ZISME input would be interesting. There is a mistery in Florida.
