Default Model year differrences 2003-2004?

I spent the better part of yesterday afternoon at a Nissan dealership. I finally got to test drive a 6sp. I have decided on the Performace and color will probably be based on availability, since all the colors look good to me and I cannot decide.

This dealership has some more '03s coming in, vins already filled. Then starting in Sept they have some '04s coming in, not in production yet. Does anyone know what will be changed besides the colors on the 2004 models?

For one, a convertable roadster will be available (duh!)

I heard there will be a new Nav. compartment door thingy.

Different seats are available with the roadster.

I also heard that the 04 will have wiring in place so that it will be satellite radio ready.

I don't recall specifics but Bonz is close. Not many changes & none of substance.

When the car interior is warm, mine doesn't work...is there a tsb out/ coming out?

if not....any chance of replacing this one w/ the new type coming out on the '04?

Is this the "liquid Aluminum" color they are making like on their press car? I thought this was some special process that cost thousands. I wonder if they are going to charge extra for the color like BMW does

Yes, Liquid Aluminum is going to be more expensive. $1100 I think.

maggie,
I have the same problem with my nav door when it gets hot outside. Mine will only go up about half way and then i have to push it up the rest of the way. Does anyone else have this problem?

yup.. I have the same issue. It's not a big deal, but I wonder how soon it will be until it doesn't work at all.

Mine's been replaced twice because it quit retracting. Heat seems to have a major effect on it. AZ summer heat can see temps of over 150 degrees inside the car. The nav door is retracted by a "roll spring" as it heats up it expands and loses it's preloaded pull force.

cheap a$$ design if you ask me. I would love it if Nissan replaces the '03 door with an '04 if the '03 doesn't work.
