Want to buy a Z!!!!
I have been looking for a while now at some Z's but I do have some questions for owners of them.
I am looking at one right now with higher miles 92000 to be exact, what am I looking at as far as problems and needed parts? Also general prices for parts, are they reasonable or way up there? any info would be greatly appreciated in making my decision on buying a Z!

too many clicks for my taste. It's one thing to put those on yourself and quite another to buy one such as that used.
I am going to assume the warranty no longer applies. Even so, any extra parts needed for repairs and service are expensive at many car dealerships and Nissan (especially with the Z) is no exception to this.
I would continue to hunt for one with less on it, save for a better used/new one and ditch tossing a lot of money into a car with potential issues, even more so if it is an earlier model.
Don't get me wrong, the Z is fabulous, has longevity (if cared for) and there is just nothing quite like it but from the tone in your post I don’t think you would be pleased with just how much it would take to run/maintain such a used vehicle, let alone a new one.
Some questions:
1) What year/model/trim?
2) Any specific known issues?
3) Any potential issues?'
4) Who is selling and why?
Just my point of view. There will be many used/new parts out there to replace those items that may need attention however, I think very few people would be willing to dump such money into a vehicle.
Keep searching/saving and good luck.

well i am looking at used Z's either 2003 or 2004, as far as models i don't want a base but would be happy with a touring or enthusiast. I am already accounting for rebuilding the tranny and possibly puttin a clutch in, and no getting an auto is not an option for me. But i guess as far as like the "normal" stuff that wears (and yes i know everything wears) with miles: brakes, tires... ect. is there any known big fixs that happen after 50000 miles or anything that i should be looking for or asking about.
Also thankfully my roommate is an auto mechanic and one of my friends is manager at an import auto parts distributor, so my other question is how is the aftermarket for replacement parts?
Again thanks for the feedback and anymore info would be greatly appreciated!
P.S. civics are garbage if i wanted to be like every 16 year old kid i would buy a civic. There is alot to be said for having a fast car, but there is even more to be said for having a fast car that looks good!

Some 03 & 04 Z's had tranny issues, but since you're already accounting for that maybe that won't matter. The good news is the engine in the Z's are solid. The bad news is parts are expensive for it. I agree with the others though, I would try to find one with less miles. There are plenty used Z's out there, I would keep looking.

Well thankfully i am in canada where the insurance is about 30 bucks more a month for a Z then my car i have at the moment, and gas well since we pay 1.28 - 1.35 a litre where as in the US your only paying 1.00 - 1.15 a litre. I've come to terms with high gas prices and am not going to let it affect what i am going to do. As far as Price range i was looking for 20000 being the highest, don't get me wrong i could go out and buy a brand new Z but then i would have lots of unwanted debt. Another question would you say that a Z its an ok Daily driver (route consists of nothing but hwy.) or more of a sunday driver?
Guaranteed the Z is not a winter car. When I got my 04 I was going to sell my crappy *** 96 Talon and I was considering just getting a nice set of winter tires and taking really good care of it. Boy was I wrong to think that.
Expect to have a winter car that is not the Z.
As others have said get something with less miles or at least have it thoroughly inspected.

sports cars with that many miles on them are risky business. disapproval no matter how good it looks.
way to many miles for a sports car, espically one this new, dont even look at anything over 50K, and i wouldnt buy any sports car with over 20K
And in canada, you want to use the Z as a DD..and in winter, thats just insane. Most peeps dont (not all but most) use a Z as daily. Honestly if you cant afford a low mileage Z, then, not to sound like a dick but you would be better off with a civic or something reliable untill you have the money to buy a proper Z.
