Default Clutch pedal adjusted

Well I picked up my Z last tuesday and have about 400 miles on her so far. My main problem with this car so far is how difficult it is to shift from a stop in first and first to second.

IT SHOULDN'T BE THIS HARD!

So I took it to my dealer today to have them check it and they are adjusting the clutch pedal. Will this help?

Can they make it not be so heavy?

I am not the best stick driver but not the worst either, and it just seems that the sweetspot is way to short or something. Smooth shifts are hard to get in these gears?

Anyone with me on this?

Anyone have their clutch pedal adjusted? How much of a difference does it make?

What is the correct way to start off from a stop? Here is what I do:

Initially:

Clutch is in, sitting in first gear, foot on brake.

Light turns green:

foot off brake, foot on gas, rev to ~2000 RPM's, slowly release clutch pedal. (is this wrong)

i think the clutch pedal is perfect. in my stepfathers audi tt the clutch pedal is like an on off switch and it drives me nuts since there is no room to really slip it, i mean literally even if you rest your foot on it the clutch is in so its real hard to shift smoothly between gears since its so sudden. i hate light clutch pedals too cause you cant feel anything with them.

i have to disagree, the clutch on this car is different from car to car. i have driven 2 other member's Z, both of them have really heavy clutches and they catch very high. where mine is light as feather and catches very low.

first my car, when i first got it, the clutch was slightly heavy and it catches really low, i mean as soon as i lift my foot slightly. Also the shift from 1st to 2nd was really tough and notchy. however after 2-3 k miles, it has been much better. the clutch is light and the shift is much smoother, although still little notchy if i shift at high rpm.

slexis200's car, i first drove his car back last oct, it felt very much like my car in the beginning. After he got his tranny replaced 2x, i drove his car again last month, wow, his clutch is so so heavy. it feels like i'm driving a truck. his clutch catches very high.

themyst's car, i drove his car when he had the third gear grinding.
his clutch was slightly heavier than mine and catch higher as well. however after he got his tranny replaced, his shifter is much smoother, slightly better than mine. but his clutch is also heavier.

conclusion, Wierd! it seems that after they got their tranny replaced, their clutch also got heavier.

Anyhow about the starting from stop to 1st, i usually tap the gas very slightly and then let got the clutch slowly.

hope this info can be some help

I think it's fixed. He said that my clevis pin was super tight and he adjusted it to specs. On my very short drive back to work I really could notice a huge difference, feels much smoother now.

I'll keep you posted

Mine is still pretty heavy too, although not as bad as at first though. When I first got the car, the least bit of letting off of it would kill it immediately, but that has just drastically.
