Salesman says that all Canadian cars being held in Vancouver, and will all be released from there at once. Of course this means the further East you are, the longer you will have to wait...

Huh?
Then I guess you will be waiting a long time for your car because I have a September build date which means an early November delivery.

Ha ha ha, no I think the intent is to hold only the first shipment for a few days this week. Kind of like Zisme was saying they were thinking of doing in the US. And then they thought the better of it and let people have their cars as they arrived at port.

There have been a few reports of people already having their Z's in the Toronto area (production Z's that they ordered) in some threads below.

Is there really any reason why they would hold the cars in port though? I'm assuming that it costs them $$ to hold them in port and pay for that space? Why not just ship them out with the rest of the regular shipments to dealers?

There are several reasons to hold them in port:

1. Marketing hype.

2. Clearing customs.

3. Installing options -- all Canadian cars have the side air bag option.

Customs for sure. And I hear ya about the side air bags. Something I didn't even think of!

But marketing hype would be a lot more effective if they were actually marketing the car! I don't think that they're advertising campaign goes into effect until September or something. I'm sure I read something on here to that effect.

Then again, I guess word of mouth and many magazine reviews and what not do count for marketing!

All I want is my Z!

Isn't that a factory installation for the CDN specs?

For some reason i thought you were getting a redline track. I am hoping i get mine at the same time as you but if i dont id sure like to get in line to go for a spin, everyone and their dog at the dealership wants to go too. Are you coming to Stoon to wait for it or are they going to call you when its in?

I'm going to wait until they call me, and if they don't call by the 31st I'll go over and wait there.

The Redline Track looks so awesome in pictures, I would have been happy with that! It's very hard to take a picture of a gray car, so I haven't been stunned by many of the Silverstone pictures, although there are a few.

Here's a good shot of a gray car that I shot in Geneva.

Maybe some day!

The car above is a Ferrari 360 Modena. People in Geneva buy it as a "second car".
