Default Opinions needed.....

Hey guys,

Like the title says I need some opinions.

Been looking for a Z for a couple of weeks now and finally a local one has showed up. Upstate NY isn't exactly the best place to find a Z. Anyways its a one owner 03 base with 40k on the clock. The dealer is asking $16,000. I have no idea of prices on Z as I am coming from an M background. Is the price any good? Also, I will be driving the Z year around. Just plan to get a set of blizzaks. Will the base model not having a LSD be a problem in the snow and further more will I really miss it on the street?

The price sounds reasonable for it being a dealership price. What will the out the door price be? They can say $16,000 but by the time you leave you can be paying 19K if you're not careful.

I would check KBB first.

^ Fact, the car really can't be worth much more than this using the Kelly blue book.

thanks guys, after searching the forums the past hour between the general and the sale section I'm thinking 16k can go a lot further somewhere else. Wish I never had to let go of the M3 or the S4. College sucks lol

College is the best thing that you can do to insure that you can always drive nice vehicles & have the funds to take care of your family

Imo I would have to stress... Do well in college... Its not enough just to have attended...

LOL Dont know about you but I know quite a few college buddies who never amounted to anything...

To the OP study hard no matter how sucky it all seems. It'll get worse before it gets better Always time to buy cars etc..

+1. go to school! the Z is completely affordable as a college student, first hand experience. the m3 and s4... i would say they have a much higher cost to own value.

go to college with the Z ---> get a degree and a career and buy a GT-R

my plan at least...

Yea, I know. I was just spoiled to have both a m3 and an S4.......I know college is my best move and it will get 110% of my attention. Just wish I could have kept my two German Babies.....The v8 in the B6 was awesome and an M car is an M car.......But this way I will come out at least break even, mabye to good in terms of money. Finally I like everything about your plan except the last part. Oops this is a nissan forum For me, the only gtr I want is a v-spec r34 and since that won't happen, I'll be looking into a z06 as a grad present to myself.....I see them being mid 40's by the time I'm done with school.

What are you studying? Not most people can get straight out of college and afford a GTR with a job. You shouldn't buy a car that is worth more than half of what you make a year. With that said, you should be making atleast 140k a year. For an entry level job, that's a hell of a job. If there are still some openings, let me know, lol.

I don't know who inveted the "+1" thing, But i give this a +10 on a 1 to 8 scale. There is NOTHING wrong with the base, if you need the extra technology to drive your car, or if you feel incompetent on your driving capabilities, just drive slower.

You can afford a M3 but you're worried about spending 13K on a Z...?

Is this another one of those rich threads? Everyone who post in the forums asking if a certain Z is a great deal then say something in the line of I can afford it and etc. needs to just buy the car. If you used to have those 2 nice cars before, then you should be able to afford a 16K car. I would just go by KBB and judge it from there. Check the condition and etc. before purchasing since a 16K Z that runs great is a better buy then a 13K Z that needs a new engine or frame.
