The passenger side has an aluminum door handle, but the driver side door doesn't. Is this the case with final production models, too?

 

I think their thinking is that the driver would keep both hands on the wheel.

As long as they look very similiar, and feel the same i don't mind it. Maybe, as ethan said, it is so the passenger can hold on. I haven't t=the " OH SH*T" handles on the passenger side.

 

I haven't studdied the two handle issue in the Z, but my passat has a different pull close handle for the driver (smaller) maybe to make room for the extra window buttons(4) on the driver side.

 

you are CORRECT! The long vertical G Grip on the passenger side is for the person in that seat to hang onto when his face is planted in the right window as you wip around that corner at 4 g's. Driver dont get one due to the thought that the boy oughta have both on the wheel and not elsewhere in said cornering move.

Soooooo, can we officially call it the "OH **** GRIP"?

 

I was looking through some old commercials for from www.ttzd.com and it looked like some of the older Zs had a handle on the passenger door, but not on the drivers side. Does anyone know which models were like this?
