Received call from dealer 10:00 AM. My car not in, but would I like to see two Z's just arrived.

Got there quickly, one Red Touring 6sp; one Black Touring 6spd with everything. this one belonged to the Gen. Mgr.

He let me drive it, these are my impressions:

Visibility: I am 5'4" tall and had no trouble seeing behind and no real bad blind spots.

Leather: good quality, good fit.

Interior: After hearing the bitching about cheapness -- BULL!
Very good by American standards and good by more expensive foreign iron. Nothing to be ashamed of.

Gears: shifting is close-ratio and positive, no noticable vibration. Clutch seems to have more travel than I'm used to. Moves out with very little clutch movement. By comparison, my Cobra requires Bench Press strength to depress the clutch.

A?C: Only got to 101 today, but very comfortable.

Whomever gets the Red car, you will get your call today. they would not let anyone init.

NNA rep. was there -- Chip will be available early 03, but aftermarket Chips will be here soon. No adverse effect on warranty unless it caused the specific problem.

If more dealers treated their pre-orders like this one treated me, there would be less complaints.
