Back in those days...I mean 1 year ago, before the Z is out
Remember analyzing numbers on the pre-order mailings we received, trying to determine if any number was some indication of a production date, vin number, order number, etc.
Or...
"Did you get your black envelope yet?"
But ZISME.....every pre-orderer knew who ZISME was...we hung on every word he posted.... he squelched rumours...created rumours....took vacations without notifying us (the nerve!).

Here is a pic of a bunch of guys from this site getting a look at a Z at a dealership in VA. I don't really remember their names since it has been so long since this pic was taken, so if you see yourself, let us know who you are! I am the one on the far right in the blue shirt.
Great thread - what memories. I'm sitting here looking at my pile of magazines, newspaper clippings, Nissan brochures, etc..., wondering how a previously sane 40 year old could spend 6 months of his life hanging on every word on this site while I waited for a car. (I know, it's not just a car, it's a Z)
Wow. Memories... I can't believe it's almost been a year. This summer has been fun with many road trips for a total of 8k miles to date and I'm loving it.
Here's a pic from birth... seriosuly, I was trying to pick which one was mine. Too bad it was a Jacksonville, FL port.
Great fun! Great car!
The pic shown below is a pic of Chicago Ohara airport. I drove her all th way back to NY just to break her in.

Ahhh, the memories. It is bittersweet thinking back to those days. For me nothing will beat the hijinks of Scaf and company staking out headquarters and docks and wherever they thought a Z might be spotted...much of time led on by mystic clues from RxO.
So many memories : buying sight unseen and never driven , waiting which seemed forever , visiting the dealer to plunk down $ 3,000 on a car I really knew nothing about ......... But worth it all !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
