I think the z should be compared to....hmm thats kinda hard to say but i would have to say cayman. I know its a big price differnce but that is what nissan is going after. I am just not a fan of american cars i like european and japanese. But i think the new Z will out perform other high cars like the 3 series form BMW. So when Nissan is targeting Porsche, I think it DEGRADING to compare to charger or camero

yea i see your point im not saying they cant own a different car, im just saying i think its wrong to compare two cars that are not in the same class. Example honda vs Ferrari. as i mentioned nissan is targeting to go against Porsche and i dont think cameros or chargers fall into that category.i hope you see what i mean

anyways, I am looking forward to the new Camaro. I have a soft spot for them, my first car was a 68 Camaro - anything coming back to life with retro inspired style is cool in my book.

I can't wait to drag against some of the v6's, that will be the norm.. but man, the SS/v8's are going to blow the Z away. Maybe not in handling..

Where does your hatred of American cars come from? Ever owned one yourself? Have you owned a Euro car to be able to compare to? By using the words "gay" and "hate" and "degrading" to describe the Camaro/Charger/Mustang, you must have had a bad experience at one point, yes???

How old are you, anyhow? That could help us with making sense of your statements.

I don't think Nissan builds cars thinking "hey, this can be a direct competitor to the (insert car name here)" The camaro and the Z are both high performance cars, and they both have their own strengths and weaknesses.

 

Just because you like Japanese and Euro cars, doesnt mean its a bad thing to have it compared to an American car. You really should take one of the new Camaros for a drive once they come out. I bet you'll be quite surprised on how well it performs. Stop stereotyping. Also, they dont call it the "Japanese Mustang" for nothing.

Funny you think that the Z was targeted towards the Cayman when it didnt even exist when the Z came out

 

No no guys, i am talking about the new 370 thats coming out. i read an article about it over at the 370 section(it was a link i forgot which one..) how they are targeting the cayman so no dreaming ahahah

 

I encourage car manufacturers to do their best to make performance cars. Some of you guys weren't around in the 70's. Emissions and safety regulations killed every thought of a performance car. The Z was one of the few who complied and stayed true to performance.

With manufacturers out there competing for HP bragging rights, that just means Nissan will be challanged to "one-up" everyone else in the market later. So in the end, it's a good thing for you.

Also, more performance cars means lobbyists for manufacturers will try to keep out tree hugger bills in Congress that will lower speed limits or set ZEV standards on 100% of cars produced.

So thank GM for supporting the car enthusiast market. You don't have to buy it, just enjoy what makes you happy.
