Yup i'm with venture, the 370 is going to be a little faster. But so what, you can mod the 350 to just a fast. It's like saying our 3.5 is better than the R34's 2.7

One factor that would influence me is size; the 370 is supposed to be smaller. My 350 is perfect for my size & use; I would not want it smaller.

Guess I would wait until 370 comes out; drive both 350 & 370. pick one.

All these people hating on the 370Z are going to be jealous and @ss-kissers once we start seeing the new Z on the streets and at the track. No matter how it looks, it will always be better than any previous generation. Period.

Why isn't it an option? You can get a low low mile 05-06 C6 for 30K these days

My 07 got flooded by Hurricane Ike, so I thought I might wait until the 09's came out. But then I change my mind and ordered the 08. I've never been a believer in buying the newest model, not all the bugs have been worked out. If you look at another thread here that shows consumer reports on the quality of the Z, you'll notive that the earlier years had more problems than the later years.

I'll drive the 350 for about 4 or 5 years and then upgrade to the 370.

+1

Not only do they have to work out the kinks but also after market parts. You will have to wait and see which aftermarket parts to come out and also wait and see which ones actually work well with the 370z. Waiting till later is better in my opinion.

That's actually a pretty good way to put it. If I were in his position, that would have definitely changed my point of view.

I'm actually really surprised at all the folks who dislike the 370's look so much. No disrespect, but for me the two sore spots for the 350Z were the weight and the looks. IMO the roofline is terrible and the rounded, bulbous butt looks like a modern interpretation of the trunk from a 1930's luxury car. The 370 fixes all of that, brings some 240Z back into the mix, is a more appropriate size for a Z car, and adds a good deal of power to the mix. The only sore spot for me is the rise in sticker price, although given the above I don't feel it is terribly out of line if the interior is as much of an improvement as many have indicated. The 370Z is the first Nissan-badged model I have been interested in a long time.

the 370 will be nice but the statement that newer is not always better can be true and can be seen with many other makes, eg. the rx7 and rx8, IMO. i think the 08 would be better, i was in this same dilemna and went with the 08, the horsepower these cars come with from factory wont really make a huge difference if your planning on going aftermarket with your car ( presuming the 370 has the same hr as the g37). the main thing you should probably be looking at is the cosmetics and see which one you think looks better. thats just my 2 cents

Realistically the 370 won't be at the dealerships for about six months according to the Nissan rep I talked with at the Orange County Auto show. When it finally does arrive, be prepared to pay well above list price for at least six months. So at the end of the day, a 350Z makes dollars and sense.
And now I'll plug my Z that is amazing but is for sale, a Nogaro Red, 6 speed, Touring with 5500 miles, babied and beautiful for $26950. Check out my post and pics in the For Sale section Good luck with your purchase.
