Extended Warranty
Anyone considering an extended warranty?? Normally, I would not even consider this, but, being a new model ... you never know. I've got no concerns about the powerplant, for you newbies, that's the engine. My concern wquld be the electricals and the suspension. Any thoughts. I've got my local Nissan dealer faxing me the prices. Being as they got us for MSRP for the Z, I'm shooting to negotiate this price if I decide to get one. Word is, this is a BIG profit center for dealers. Comments??

I would be interested as well, the price of the extended warranty I believe is negotiable and the price is set by the dealers. They have different packages I think the Gold + is the highest and depending on how long you want it for. When you get prices please post. Thanks.

I'm thinking about the same thing. I've been tempted to call my dealer and ask how much the extended warranty is going to be, but I've got so long until my car comes, I guess I can wait a little while longer to ask.
Does Nissan have some kind of standard extended warranty programs? Although, the prices probably won't be standard.

I am considering purchasing one from WarrantyDirect.
From what I've read on the web, they are the company that sells warranties to the dealerships.
Here's a short blurb:
We're not one of the many Internet startups that have popped up lately. Warranty Direct is the direct marketing arm of Interstate National Dealer Services Inc., one of the largest vehicle warranty and service contract firms in the nation. Our company is 20 years old and is publicly traded (NASDAQ: ISTN). We're not a dot com company that relies solely on the Internet for our survival.
Having sold and administered over 1,000,000 warranties, no other company can match our longevity, financial stability and reliability. When selecting a warranty provider, financial stability should be of utmost importance; after all, you will need them to be there down the road to pay your claims.
Forbes Magazine has named Interstate to their list of "The 200 Best Small Public Companies " 3 years in a row. In evaluating companies, Forbes measured growth and financial stability for the past 5 years.
With a Warranty Direct plan, you'll always receive:
*FREE roadside assistance for the life of the warranty
*Car rental reimbursement
*Travel interruption protection
*Nationwide acceptance
*Renewable and transferable protection
*No wear-and-tear exclusion
*Peace of mind - we administer our own plans and handle our own claims
---------------------
The quote I received was as follows:
Your Vehicle:
--- 2003 Nissan 350Z
--- 10 Miles
Terms: Diamond Diamond
$100 Deductible $0 Deductible
4 Years / 50000 Miles $400.00 $550.00
4 Years / 60000 Miles $575.00 $725.00
4 Years / 100000 Miles $800.00 $1,000.00
5 Years / 75000 Miles $725.00 $900.00
5 Years / 100000 Miles $825.00 $1,025.00
5 Years / 125000 Miles $1,225.00 N/A
6 Years / 60000 Miles $625.00 $775.00
6 Years / 100000 Miles $875.00 $1,075.00
7 Years / 75000 Miles $775.00 $950.00
7 Years / 100000 Miles $925.00 $1,125.00
FYI, their addy is: http://www.warrantydirect.com

Yes you can go the the Nissandriven.com website for information on the different plans, just not pricing, as I said it is like the car the dealer makes money on how much the can sell it for.

warranty
My understanding is that you can get the extended warranty around the 36,000 mile mark. Otherwise you are really duplicating some of the factory warranty. Any comments from some of the dealers that monitor this forum? How about you Jessienissan?
I also understand this is one of the big profit items for the dealers.
