Do I have OCD?
With a little more information, we may be better able to diagnose you... like what other behaviors do you have? At this point, it sounds like you have a favorite gas station and a favorite gas pump.

Yes, and so do I. I have read numerous articles in magazines about trying to stick with the same brands for consistency. Some people think its B.S and thats OK, but I have had good luck w/using Texaco and thats what I use here. 91 is almost the highest octane we can get, any time I can get higher at a clean station/major brand, I'll go for it. Otherwise, I stick with one brand.
I always go to Amoco. This may be wrong but I heard Amoco was the only company to bring in their own fuel. The rest of them all use the same stuff.
I don't do this with my other cars though. The Camry takes the generic 89 octane with ethanol.

I've never seen an AMOCO here. You can get 93 at stations on our borders. I will not use ethanol in my Z, I have had a couple of bad drivability problems using it. Over 4000 ft., I will use 88 or 89 to avoid ethanol. At those altitudes and higher, 90 ,91 and 93 often contain ethanol, I don't recommend it at all. The owner's manual is not very keen on it either.

I don't use ethanol in the Z either. BP is another name for Amoco.
Does Mobil 93 have ethanol? (I'm sure in IL its hard to find non-ethanol gas, actually) I'm just wondering. I haven't had any probs with the Mobil 93 octane stuff at all, but if I can get an even better burn, I wouldn't pass on it.

I just looked into this issue. Its IL law that gasolene must contain a certain percentage of ethanol. Its an effort to help the farmers (total joke). From everything I've learned so far, there's no evidence that its a cleaner burn. In fact, it seems to burn less efficiently. Its even more expensive to refine, raising the cost of gas in this state (because the companies are FORCED to use it AND because its a more expensive process). Its purely an effort to help farmers under the guise of "alternative fuel". I'm pretty unhappy about this...
