LA-area insurance rate
Prudential Financial just quoted me $560/6 months on my new 350Z, which isn't due to arrive until Oct.
I realize this doesn't mean anything without some context so here's my info.:
(1) I'm 28 and I have 0 infractions/accidents/tickets/etc.
(2) This rate includes a multi-line discount (another car + homeowner's insurance)
(3) My deductibles are 500/500 -- I save $400 a year over having them at the state-minimum 100/250, so this is clearly the way to go.
The good news is that the rates on the Z are only a few dollars more per year over the 2000 Acura Integra it's replacing.

Dont be fooled. The insurance can only be based on MSRP and some basic information. I think that until a few months have gone by, and the company you have gets a couple of vins and reports...the price you pay will not representative.
My company (century 21) told me that they were actually calling the car a sedan until they had more VINS in the system.

you may be right, but this place would not even give me a quote until I gave them a VIN. Evidentally they are insuring one of the new owners. Granted the rates may change, but I don't think the quoted amount is unbelievable.

. That wouldn't work for me since I'm a magnet for shopping carts.
